did your yorkie turn out to be what you expected?
 

after reading post after post of how some babies didn't turn out to be what was expected(but we still love them more than anything), i was wondering how many of us got exactly what we wanted and how many didn't. like color,weight, length, ears, etc..i can say that i am one that was told he would be smaller. so for me it's no how about you? please explain..

I voted yes as I am very happy with how she is turning out (looks-wize, personality....) But I could of also voted no as she is so much more beautiful and I love her much more than I ever expected. I also thought that at this stage she would be a lot larger than she is.

Before we got Teddy I had in my mind the vision of what I believed a
yorkie should look like. Teddy is probably about as opposite of that
vision as it comes. His ears only stand sometimes which I could have
probably corrected with taping them but I just didn't want to hurt
him in trying. He is a lot taller and actually bigger than I also expected
but on the positive side...when he was so small that too actually made
me uncomfortable so it worked out perfectly. He's not perfect and
neither am I so I would say it was a perfect match made in heaven
that we found one another.

I love her just the same, probably more than I thought I could. But I was expecting her to be a smaller dog. She is tall and weighs in at 8lbs. :p

All I wanted was a healthy female yorkie to love. So yes, I got what I wanted. I think she is turning out to be more than I could have ever expected. She is smart, beautiful and and full of personality.

brownies temperment is what i expected but not his weight at alllllllll!!!

Trixie turned out way more than I expected. She is so much cuter, smarter and better than I thought she would be.

I have read that yorkies were usually more high strung. Since charlie is my first yorkie, thats what i expected. He is actually really laid back and hardly barks, easygoing. It is fantastic!

Yes in look wise maybe I was hoping for a bit smaller but I knew he wouldn't stay soo small. I love every inch of him. I was looking for more of a laid back dog but I got I very active one instead even thought the breeder told me other wise BUT he just keeps me on my toes!

Pixie is everything I expected and more. Granted she's only 7 months old and still has some growing to do (hopefully, because she's a little on the small side) but her personality is everything I wanted in a Yorkie. I really could not have asked for a better puppy. :D

Gracie is very sweet and loving she is absolutely beautiful, but I expected her to be a little smaller. :rolleyes: :) I love her to death, I would not change her for anything in this world.

I cried and cried to my husband for us to get a dog. I wanted one SO badly! I had never had a dog before....and had recently married and moved to a new town.

I was lonely without friends, and insecure being in a new town, new husband, new job, etc. I needed a friend really badly. I also needed a friend who needed me as a friend back....and thought a puppy would be perfect.

I had so many expectations for a dog...I was afraid that I was setting myself up for a disappointment. Not one I would regret, but inside all my depression and insecurities, I knew a little dog couldn't fill ALL those needs.

Oh but he did, he has and he does every day. I don't ever want to know life without my wonderful little dog! Sully is the best medicine I could ever have in my life!!!!!

Gus is way more than what I had expected. This little guy is so tiny but with the biggest heart. The breeder told me he was going to be around 3 1/2 to 4 lbs. but only reached 2.9. He is so intuned to my emotions. I never thought I could ever get so attached. We have had quite a few dogs in the past but never really bonded as much as Gus and I. He is my baby and I love him as if he were one of my human babies. Which some of you may know just how much my husband, kids and family mean to me by all the pictures I share.

I said no only because he is better than expected!!! He is such a well behaved puppy and a quick learner. I love him to pieces!! He is a little bigger than I wanted, but I couldn't of asked for a better dog!!

Haha Teddy - I did the same - answered NO because my dogs turned out to be MUCH MUCH more than I expected. I can live without kids as long as I have Kali and Mare (+ they won't wreck my car and make me go to PTA meetings)
I really didn't expect a dog to be all that and at the same time be so much dog.

Looks wise, Chewy turned out to be exactly what I was looking for. Also, he is very lovey and likes to sit on my lap and get the back of his ears rubbed. I did not expect him to be so naughty, though! Case in point, running away with my engagement ring or my son's new Star Wars figures. After much deliberation, we have decided to keep him ;)

rosie was more than i expected, shes loving, funny, kissy, loves me unconditionly and my best friend next to my husband, as this is my 1st dog im very lucky i got rosie.

My girls are MUCH MORE then i could ever have wished for, i have already cried many happy tears for them, i feel SO blessed to have them in my life, they are my pride and joy, these little ones are SO lovable and happy, always have smiles and kisses for us, they adore each other and they each have more then enough love in their tiny bodies to share it with us!

I never thought i could love like this again after we lost our other 3 yorkies, for a long time i could not allow myself to think of loving another, but i know now that this is what our other babies wanted for us, and i know they are looking down and smiling, they will never leave us, i talk and sing to them everyday!

I have a double answer,my male is not what I was lead to believe,he was supposed to be around 4 lbs,and he is 4.10 lbs,but his hair is not very long, it is silky,yet I thought I was getting a blue and gold,yet he is turning into a silver and blue,the blue is lighter than I expected, his breeder said its a recesive gene and his color wont matter,yet he is not cobby,he feels like a muscle bound terrier, my female is everything and more, she is cobby,weighs 4 lbs even with thick longer silky hair,she has twice the hair he does,and her legs are shorter, now for personality,he is a sweetheart,not hyper,loves to be told he is a good boy,she is a little attitude waiting to show it,if you say she is a good girl,she looks at you like she knows it, if you say bad girl, its like "So what mom, big deal, I don't care...but we love them both dearly

All of my yorkies have been MORE than what I expected. I have had dogs all of my life and I have loved them all, but I was not prepared for the impact that these little dogs would have on me!

Hefner was my first and I had no idea what I was doing but I lucked out and got a great dog from a wonderful breeder/broker right here in my town who took the time to teach me about the care of this tiny breed. He is a great dog and he is almost a year old. He is independent but loves to love and cuddle as well. He is not yappy and not too hyper and he loves to sleep in!

Buddha, I got for my daughter, and he is different from Hefner in looks and personality but he is such a sweetheart and soooo cute. He smiles and is happy and loving and, although a bit of a wimp, he is calm and gets along with other dogs.

Chai is my middle daughter's dog and she is the biggest challenge because she has a bit of a hyper personality and bosses everyone around. She tends to be jealous and barks the most, but she too is more than I ever expected when I bought her. She is unique in looks and mannerisms and she is small at less than 3 lbs.

My most recent adoption was of baby Ava and she is such a "perfect" puppy it is almost scary. I spent a lot of time however searching for her and I think my research and time paid off. She is the cutest thing and she is well trained, she only barks when appropriate, she has a gorgeous coat, big eyea, small ears and will be under 4 lbs full grown. She is almost 100% potty trained and she does not cry when left alone, she gets along with the other dogs and all people. She loves to give kisses and can play rough without wimping out. She is just what I was looking for an more because I wnated to complete package with looks and personality and I think I succeeded!

i voted No.....Rex turned out to be so much more that we expected... not to mention ALOT BIGGER :D

Chachi and Jewels are both much more than I expected. They are both so sweet and everything I could want.

I would have to say a big YES...I had no idea what to expect but I now have two wonderful girl who are the best yorkies in the world (in my opinion)!! I would have never expected them to be to loyal and loving, the are the highlight of my day everyday!!

I voted yes but honestly the answer is no, because she turned out even better! But there wasnt an option like that so i chose yes :p

I voted no because Shelby is nothing like I expected her to be. We had a choice between her and her sister when we went to pick her up. My boyfriend liked Shelby better when we had seen pics of both of them and in person. I wasn't sure which one, but I liked how Shelby's sister was playing around more than Shelby was. Then KC, my boyfriend was like no you don't want a hyper dog they will drive you nuts, so we got Shelby, she was smaller than her sister also and I wanted a small one. Plus I wanted KC to bond with the dog and I figured letting him pick which one woould help him bond with her. Well, she is the hyperest thing ever she never sleeps, at least I don't see her sleep. She runs everywhere, and then runs laps around the room in a circle over and over it is crazy, biting everything and I just have to laugh becuase I thought I was getting this sweet mild-mannered dog. I love her so much no matter what she acts like though.

Yes , Jade , Choulita and Mitsou are what I was expecting .
