I'm trying to read about the different cities, I've been looking on dogfriendly.com and Alexandria seems to have a good amount of parks, attractions, stores, etc... that are dog friendly. They have canine cruises, but unfortunately they are on Thursdays, I think it's the second Thursday of every month. One place does doggie happy hours there too, but again on a Thursday! I guess we could always go early if VA gets picked!! |
I voted San Diego just cause after graduating high school, getting married 4 days later.... that is where my new hubby & I moved to for 2 1/2 yrs 15 years ago & I have wanted to go back soooo bad. I love it there.... but anywhere is fine with me. Having to miss this year was heartbreaking & I will go where it is.. !!! |
I could do any of the East Coast optioins as well. I hope it is one of the E. Coast locations so I can go! :) |
This is exciting and I'm voting later...I just wanted to get on this thread. |
I voted for Virginia - Because it is close to NYC and because the date is in the middle of my husbands busy season, so if we were to go, it has to be close - YAY - I am so excited! I would LOVE to go :p |
Gez, all these places sound great but I voted for San Diego this year. |
I chose Seattle Washington but i meant to choose San Diego, i didnt even see San Diego:( Oh well i really vote for San Diego |
I voted San Diego but it really doesn't matter where it is held, Lucy and I will be there! |
I voted for Alexandria, VA , it's close to me, but all the choices are good ones! |
There are a couple of places that I would love to visit, but I will be voting later, just wanted to subscribe to the thread. ;) |
I voted for VA...seems like a good bit of things that are dog friendly. |

As it gets closer and the destination is picked, if it's in Savannah or NC, maybe we can get a couple other people from the Tampa area and all drive up together? |
I chose Savanna, GA. I've always wanted to go! :) It's not too long of a flight (Daisy cant fly longer than a few hours:rolleyes:) I can't wait to see what location will get picked! |

for us, everything on the list is a far drive.. but since there's soo many things in Cali, I voted for that |

I'm torn because I'm familiar with Seattle and I know it's a great dog city and the climate would be pretty mild for the dogs, I know everyone worries about the rain, but it's not hot & humid like alot of places in the south! I'm trying to mull over my choice!! |

Savannah is a historic city. They have tons of tours of the historic part of town. In the historic part there is a street called "River Street" that is on the Savannah River and you can watch the shrimp boats and other boats come in. I can remember my dad taking me there when I was younger and getting icecream at the candy shop, then sitting and watching all the boats come in. It was pretty cool... of course there is a lot of other things to do and the beach is only about a 15 min drive from SAV. |

It was nice! I don't remember if hotels were right in that downtown area or if you have to drive out? It would be nice to stay where it's convenient! |

Matter of fact - I'm going on a vacation for a week this summer in South Dakota and I'm visiting 2 very small towns before I get to my final locale and I creatively found one gal that pet sits in De Smet, SD (Laura Ingalls Wilder's home once) - this gal only pet sits in other people's homes, but I got her convinced to take my 2 for 12 hrs. Then we're going to the Badlands and I found a vet nearby who does not do overnight boarding, but said they would keep them for a day. :) So, I bet you could find pet care in San Diego, hop down to Mexico for a few days then come back up to San Diego and fly out from there |
