Is your pet microchipped? I am considering getting my pet microchipped and am wondering how many of you have yours microchipped? |
KaCee isn't microchipped yet, but she will be when I take her in to have her spayed. |
There was recently a few pools and threads on this...check the search so you can get numbers faster. |
I have three babies....Ben and Barney are chipped...Got it done in Fort Worth...Am getting Tia chipped as soon as I can find someone down here that will do it.....Otherwise, I will just have to take her to Ft Worth also.... Joyce |
Yes. In case he gets lost and his collar fell off, he still have a chance of coming home if someone scans him. |
both of ours are  |
No, not yet... |
All three are microchipped with Home Again, and DNA tested. :D |
I want to get my chipped, but I have 3 now and it starts to add up. |
Hot Rod was microchipped when we got him. |
Both girls got chips while under anesthesia for their spay. Gives me great peace of mind. |
Yup! :) |
I voted no....but bandit will be when he gets all of his shots and is old enough. My cat is microchipped. |
All of mine except Kissy were chipped when they got spayed. I would never do it to them when they were awake. It is extremely painful to insert that grain of rice. I saw a big dog get it done and it really hurt them. I can't imagine doing it to one of our little ones when they were awake. I highly recommend it but not when they are awake. If i ever have Kissy put out for anything, i'll have her done. They didn't have it availalbe 7 years ago when i got her. |
I researched the safety of microchipping and after feeling very reassured as to Pokey's health and safety of getting it, there was no question about it. I had it done as soon as I could. Pokey is my child. I would be lost without her. With all the lost dog and theft stories out there, I want proof she is my baby. We fingerprint and have DNA for our skin children, but with our fur babies, I feel the only way the ensure the whereabouts and safe return of my fur baby is the microchip. I recently moved and my fear of Pokey wandering away in unfamiliar territory is reduced due to the fact that she has that blessed microchip! :):) |
My Tessa was microchipped when she was spayed. I did it because if we move to a big city I want the peace of mind that if she ever goes missing my info will be on her!;) |
Most of mine are microchipped...all of them will be soon...:p |
I got my little girl microchipped when I took her to the shot clinic at the Humane Society. It was a great price!! She was so tough too.. no cries or blood, the vet tech said she did better than the big boxer they did before her!!! |
No. I just never wanted it done to him. He is never without me. Sometimes I think I should have but I just never did it. I have a problem with a foreign object being implanted under his skin. Silly me but that's why it was never done. |

I will see if there is a humane society here and see how much it costs. Otherwise, it is like $50 each at the vet; $150  |
Wow, it only cost 25 dollars at my vet! |

I am going to call the humane society and see if they have any program where I can get it cheaper. |

I voted yes as I couldn't vote yes and no Mica is tatooed but Kali is microchipped. I guess it depends on the breeder's preference. LOL Cory |
One of the members on here posted an article that was from A&M University about cancer in relation to the chip. Gave me some food for thought. So when she was spayed on Friday I opted not to do it. For the time being I think I will watch it closely and think about it. |

All of our babies are micro chipped. I know first hand how well it works. I have placed many dogs into good homes and have had 3 of them get out of there yards and get lost and a vet or animal control has called me to let me know that my dog was found and I in return called the new owners and let them know there dog was found. Wonderful feeling:thumbs up:bravo: |
