Do you keep in contact with your breeder? Layla's birthday was last monday and i emailed her breeder with some pictures. I tend to do this 3-4 times a year.. just letting her know how vet visits go or to send a Christmas picture. I recently asked if i could see pictures of her litter mates to which she said, the other two owners dont' keep in touch. I was shocked. I guess my thought is, they spend so much love and time and money on these little guys, they shoudl know how things are going. Well needless to say she loves to hear from us :p so the question is, if you bought from a breeder, do you still keep in touch? |
i do! I do! She is the nicest lady ever!! I've written letters and sent pictures.... i should probably get on it again! |
I do as well. Sweet, sweet woman. Her daughter lives on my block and her other daughter us to be my neighbor in my previous neighborhood! |
i picked 'not at all' but i should have picked 'at first but not anymore'. when i first got morgan i would still talk with the breeder all the time through emails. ...then circumstances changed. wish things could be different |

I see Lucy's breeders all the time. They have become friends and I go over to visit them with Lucy a couple of times a month. Just visited on Friday as a matter of fact :) The day I had Lucy spayed I came to visit that evening and there was Andrew. He had no idea I was going to be there at that time but knew Lucy was being spayed because my vet called him about her chip. He had stopped by to check on her and from that day I knew for sure they were people I would like to keep in touch with. |
I send pictures on special occasions, holidays and also write or call if I have a questions. Glenda is terrific and always answers and comments on the pics. |
i am in regular contact with all my buyers except the first puppy I sold and she has dropped out of sight. I also sold one here on Yt that I am uncomfortable about since I haven't heard from her for awhile. i always think something has happened to my babies when i don't hear . |
I do with Milli's breeder, Martha-she is a YT member now :) (Francis53) Martha is WONDERFUL and always so sweet and interested in what's new with Milli-we compare notes on our dogs and I love hearing about her new litters :) Emma's breeder is another story-I don't keep in contact with her-I tried to at first, but she wasn't really interested. To make things worse, we contacted her when we were looking for a second yorkie, and there were several red flags going up in the conversations I had with her. If I knew then what I know now, I would have asked more educated questions about her and her breeding practices. But, I'm happy with Emma, and I wouldn't trade her for anything :) |

my breeder passed away.:( :( :( :( :( :( :( |
I keep in touch with Lil' Miss Izzie's breeder via pics and email for any special occasion or if I happen to take an adorable pics of my lil one :animal36 |
I wrote a letter and sent pictures of Lacy to her breeder when Lacy was a year old to let her know how she was doing. I included my e-mail address. She e-mailed me back and thanked me and that was the last I heard from her. I can't remember her e-mail address anymore, although I do have her address and phone number. I don't think she really cares anyway...Lacy was a gift...if she cared, she would have been more careful about who Lacy ended up with. Lacy's lucky she got me :p I plan to keep in touch with any future breeders though. I keep in touch with my younger cat's breeder..in fact I'm going to e-mail her Easter pics of Sophie soon and give her an update. It's important to me that a breeder cares enough and wants to be kept in touch with. |
I just sent Coby's breeder a picture of him for his 1 year birthday!! It was good timing bcause she was sad because Coby's mom just had to have a c-section and will retire. She kept Coby overnight one weekend once. She said he was the best little "gentleman" she had ever seen. So I try to keep in contact in case I need an overnight!! ;) |
I keep in touch weekly with the breeder of my Biewer girls...we've become good friends! I send her pictures and updates weekly, we've had a sibling visit and we talk on the phone quite often. In fact...she has a new litter of Biewer puppies I'm just going to have to go see this week! I know...but...somebody's got to do it! ;) |
i talk to rocky and trixie bell breeder about once a month on the phone! she a great lady. i'm planing on getting another puppy from her this summer. |
yes,,,i regularly send her pics of our girls and give her news of how they (we) are all getting along,, and to ask about all her babies,, her kennel improvements,, we mostly email,, but do call on occasion,, i have her home and cell #'s,, and she has mine,,I really feel she hears from me more than ANYONE else she's ever sold to,, other than personal friends of hers, lol, but says she absolutely LOVES IT! her family even all know who Crickets Mom,, the motorcycle lady ,,, is,, lol, ,the one who sends all the pictures,, :animal-pa |
My breeders can see my websites and some of us exchange emails. I am in contact at least monthly with everyone who has a dog from House of Wags. And hope to be for a long time into the future. |
I am very lucky to have an on going friendship with Reece and Soleil's breeder..she is now a very very close friend..she is grandma to my babies and they know and love her..we go out for lunch all the time..email daily and I am thankful to have met her.. Dawn |
I see Coffee's breeder now & again when I pop in to shows, but I am in contact with CoCo's breeder often. She even babysat both of them one time. She is fantastic. She still has CoCo's mommy & sisters, and CoCo love to visit them. Sheilagh |
Sure do! We got Kobi from a family friend that lives 5 min. from us! So we see him often and he always asks about him and how hes doing! We're planning on taking him over sometime so he can see him! I think its kinda sad breeders put so much time, care, and attention into these pups and then sell them and never get to see them again! I'd be tempted to just keep them ALL!!!! :D |
Rocky was re-homed to us, and I did tell the previous owner that she and her son could come visit him anytime, but we have lost contact. I did vote for the occasional one though, because we got Bella through my friends cousin and once in awhile I do talk with them still. I actually gotta send them some newer pics of her. |
I have been very fortunate....The breeder I got Ben and Barney from is a really sweet lady. We talk often and email back and forth....We constantly send pics to her and her husband..... I feel like we have made a long time friend....I know if I ever needed anything or have a question to ask, she would be there.. Joyce |
No cause my breeder turned out to be a poop and not a good breeder. I didn't know enough then to figure it out.:( |
We dont call each other or anything but chit chat thru YT from time to time. And she always gets PMs of new pics of Sam whether she wants them or not:p |
1 Attachment(s) I don't keep in touch with the breeders I got my yorkies from BUT I keep in close contact with everyone that got a yorkie from me. I have a BBQ every August as a Yorkie reunion. Last August all but 4 showed up. Here is the group picture: |

I keep in touch with my puppy buyers and I keep in touch with the people I've bought from too. I love it!!! I love seeing how my babies are doing and seeing how beautiful they are! |
Yes, I keep in touch with Tootsie's breeder often, sending pictures and updates. She always replys, saying what a beautiful girl "Our Tootsie" turned out to be. I always feel good about that. Teddy was rehomed, and I have sent pictures of him to them, but not many, because after I had him for two weeks, and all was said and done, they asked for him back, and I could never part with him. |
I would love to communicate at least a few times a year to update her on Izzy but our breeder is in Kentucky and she has no email believe it or not so that's our problem. :( |
