oh I forgot to inject that Annika did not have LP during her first year's visit to the vet . . . she turns 2 this month and we got the news about a month ago of very mild LP . . .so I am not sure if genetically they can show up as they get older? Annika is very laid back and always been scared of heights. . .she cannot even get off my fireplace which is only a foot off the ground. however she has had 5 unexplained jumps  so I wonder. Is there some type of testing to figure out if it is genetics or not? Oh Annika has CH lines too . . . I have yet to call my breeder. |

This is really scary. Kayla not only jumps like everything but runs through the house so fast, playing, that I'm afraid she is going to knock her brains out. How can you keep them from jumping. They are just hyper little dogs. Now she is trying to figure out how to jump up on the back of the couch. She is going to give me a heartattack before its over. I watch her almost constantly. Nothing slows this little girl down. |
In speaking with my vet a stage 1 is not much to worry about. She has me limit her jumping as well. She has also told me that LP can come from the best lines! |
Zoey went to the vet last night for a prespay check up...he said that her's seem to be between a 1-2. He also told me to not hyperventilate (but I knew about LP already from my research). He said most toy breeds have a 1..it's because they are so small. Lulu had a 1 and I always had it checked. Granted she was only a 15 months when she passed but I kept getting it checked and it never worsened and she was a hell of a daredevil with her jumping. The vet told me that Zoey is still growing and to not worry. Just not let her get overweight and curb any jumping and that will help immensely. We will reevaluate it in another few months. |
what is LP can't participate don't know what it is:confused: |
