I chose "york-sherr" ..

But I always say, "I have a yorkie..." I think when I do the whole "yorkshire terrier" thing, I sound so "stuck up"- it's very fancy sounding..LOL :rolleyes:

I usually say Yorkie but if I had to say yorkshire I'd pronounce it as
york-sherr. I don't think I've ever heard it pronounced any other way. I must be living a sheltered life :rolleyes:

I say york-sherr terrier as I speak.. but if some one does not know what kind of dog and actually askes me I say yorkshire terrier..

Again we use yorkie all the time.. LOL

I would also like this see those UK people come here and tell us.. I am sure they use Yorkshire..Maybe not... ummmmmmmmmm

i pronounced york-sheer but i guess regional accents pay a big part in it :) and the american accent has a lot to do in it

I used to say Yorkie when people asked what kind of dog Baby was, but then I'd get a "look" like they had never heard of a Yorkie. So now I say YORK-sherr Terrier. Sometimes I want to say YORK-sherr Terror! :D But if I'm talking with friends on a forum I always say Yorkie.

Im in uk and say york-sheer too.
