Thanks for all your help Ann and Lenora! ;)

I've got some decisions to make but you are all making it easier! I can't get them quite yet... I think I'm gonna wait 'til I get some of my extra Christmas money I always end up getting :) So hopefully I make a lens decision by then!

Alright, it's time for me to let you all in on my news. :)

For several months, I've been sending in double/triple car payments so that I could have my car paid off by the end of the year. And, I've done it! One more regular payment in December then it's all mine! :cheer::cheer::cheer:

I'm really trying to get away from all my debt so I didn't want to charge a new camera and undo what I've accomplished so far. I figured that I would be able to at least afford the QVC payments beginning in November, but something else came along that I just couldn't resist. :D But, I WILL be getting my new camera soon!

Here's the little something that I chose instead of the camera. :) http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...ving-home.html

OMG BONNY :D:D:D! CONGRATULATIONS!! Ya know, you can't really *hug* a camera! Well, you can, but it doesn't really hug ya back. :p

I am *so* happy for you! Cameras will always be there, this little baby - on the other hand - is ONE of a kind - and now I must go see HIM :D!

Here's one I'm looking at now,

Tamron af 75 300 millimeters f Camera Lenses at BizRate - Shop online for Computers & Software. Compare Prices and Read Consumer Reviews

or this

Amazon.com: Canon EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III...Amazon.com: Canon EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III...
Now what is the difference between a Tamron and a Canon lens?
:)

Breezeaway 11-19-2009 08:30 PM

I think the Tamron runs a little less money wise.

I personally would stick with Canon's or Nikon's.

livingdustmops 11-20-2009 08:42 AM

I really, really want the Nikon D90 and I would love to be able to take pictures and video's with the same camera.

That's what I've made my mind up to get. Although, I do like the D5000 and I've seen some great pictures taken with the Canon Rebel series. I've done so much reading & research on DSLR's I don't even want to think of looking into another possiblity. Call me lazy - I'm just going to stick with the research I've already done. :p

I love my D5000 ! I'm not having lens issues either. My 55-200 lens WITh motor was only $99 at best buy

I need suggestions, guys! I'm clueless....

I've got the Canon Rebel XS. What is the best second lenses to purchase? I've only got the kit lens still which works great, but what's the next level up? I want something that's not so huge but maybe blurs the background a bit more, so I would need wider aperture? Right? lol, this is all so new to me. Suggestions please! I also don't want anything that's going to break the bank lol.

Brit, I just bought the canon 50mm 1.8 prime lens. It is only like 95.00 and I love it. It has a 1.8 fixed aperature so the background blur is great. Not a zoom lens but perfect for everyday shots, portraits, low light shooting and I even did some macro shots. I got it from Amazon.

Sorry I meant 50mm fixed focal length. The aperature can be adjusted but 1.8 is wide open. Give very shallow depth of field at the 1.8.
