Name something "different" you have tried I don't branch out far from the norm. :D. However, I tried Antelope jerky and it was AMAZING! What have you tried?? |
Well life before Lisa :p I never tried anything different. We were just meat and potato eaters. Life after Lisa :D I have had lots of different things after she prodded and said try it!!Lets see...alligator,raw oysters, bear, grouse, wild turkey andlots of different spices I would never have known how to use. And who knew salt is not just salt. There are to a of varieties. |

I have tried eel, alligator, ostrich, cow tongue, tripe, haggis, buffalo, bison, venison, rabbit, kangaroo, escargot. . . .the list goes on. We were brought up you have to try it. If you don't like it you don't have to eat it. I will try anything twice. . . .because you never know the first time it might have been made wrong |

I am picky... that is what I am. I will not eat anything that is looking at me, slimy or gross. I don't even like mushrooms. |

After the deep fried kangaroo balls I suddenly feel like I have the food experiences of a toddler :p |
I knew I shouldn't have clicked on this thread! |
OMG no way could I eat kangaroo balls!!! Deep fried or any other way!! Mountain oysters (bear balls) are a delicacy to bear hunters here. I have tried rabbit and squirrel. But it was when I was 5 or 6 dad cooked it and told us it was chicken :p |

I agree with Dyan - I should have stayed away from this thread. Yuck! (says the girl with the cat named "Mr. Poops.") |

aww yes... mountain oysters:D I alway thought they were bull balls:eek: I guess you have to have "balls" to eat them???:eek::D yes pun intended lol |
My last whole lobster turned out to be female and carrying thousands of tiny orange roe ~ they were delicious :thumbup: I can't eat fish roe (too fishy for me) but this lobster roe was so sweet and poppy and delicious and literally there were THOUSANDS of eggs!! |

This thread is so weird! Just like Lil Sis, I can be a picky eater. The weirdest thing I've eaten is iguana soup. That is very typical on Bonaire but for me, just once was enough! :D |
When I was young I remember my grandpa slaughtering a pig and my grandmother made scrambled pig brains. I remember they tasted pretty good but it is not something I would want to fix now. I do like alligator, frog legs and shark. |

My mom used to tell me stories about hog killings -- I do remember one time (I was about 15 in hs) going to grandma and looking in a big pot on the stove... I had a whole hog's head in it:eek::( She was making hog\'s head cheese. |
