So when you are bumming, missing mom/dad, sick or whatever...do you have a favorite comfort food or fav dish growing up??

Mine is potato dumplings w pork hocks or my mom's garden dump soup.

Oh no I do not know how to make sour pickles. I always go to the store and buy them.

Darn that sounded so good but I don't think I've seen sour pickles when I've bought pickles...unless...I just haven't noticed!

I always buy them from Walmart and they now have extra sour pickles but they dont seem extra sour to me but they are good.

Chili especially when it's cold. I think chili is my absolute favorite thing. Well that and bacon lol

Usually sweets of any kind. My quick fix is 2 -3 teaspoons of sugar in a glass of Diet Coke.

Cheesecake with caramel, chocolate and pecans.......I could use a piece of this right now with a steaming cup of coffee. YUM!

My favorite comfort food is Shepard's Pie!! Made with lamb not beef....and smothered in potatoes (hold the cheese :thumbup::thumbup:)

My favorite comfort food is either chicken paprikash with spaetzle or cavatelli with thick meat gravy and bread or home made Mac and cheese . . . I am a foodie lol

HAHA! So when I feel sick or want warm, comfort food I always want Lipton Ring-O-Noodle soup, the box kind, along with a grilled cheese (made with butter of course) sandwich. I remember those as a kid and you know whats even funnier about this??? Both my brothers have gone into my pantry closet for soup and came out asking me where the Ring-O-Noodle is? LOL Guess we all crave that when we don't feel good!

Oh and it has to be the RING noodles, no other kind tastes the same.

Now Im wanting some! LOL

hahaha i was living on it for the last week and half when i could hold nothing down. i went thru three boxes!!! i agree it can only be ring o noodle!!! :thumbup:

for me if not sick for comfort warming food i want my moms shepherds pie or her beef stew with dumplings or her stuffed cabbage. ok now im very hungry and want one of these for dinner!! lol

Something about it makes you feel better doesn't it? My hubby does not like it and cannot understand when I make it for dinner. He'd rather make himself something else! LOL

My ultimate comfort foods are ramen noodles, macaroni and cheese, and french fries. When I am sick all I want is ramen noodles and for some odd reason I can't eat it unless it has yellow food coloring in it. My grandma used to always add yellow food coloring so I always keep a little at home for when I make ramen noodles.
