Ok I admit I had to google corundas. Much to my surprise, I've had them, AND there's a chinese version! called "zjong-zi" https://www.google.com/search?q=chin...w=1280&bih=666
They are also wrapped in banana leaves, and triangular, but with sticky rice instead of masa.

But bf never goes to dinners for the holidays. And you know what? I'm not really crazy about turkey and traditional "American" food anyway. :blush:

The ones my family makes are square. Not that the shape makes a difference, we still won't eat them. :p

Well I can get all that over here except the conch. Well I mean I can get conch, but I usually see it at these, hmm, how should I put this, "old school" Asian markets? LOL, not sure if I should take the gamble.

Kind of OT but we do turkey on Thanksgiving with game hens and ham and Christmas dinner is always pasta a red meat for the nonseafood eaters, but a big crab dinner for Christmas.

Christmas Eve is usually chicken pot pies with a desert party or a large family pot luck

I've seen frozen conch at a few places but they were covered in frost ~ not a good sign as to how they were handled :(

We do game hens on Christmas Eve. The kids LOVE getting their own :D:D

Christmas eve is bigger at our home. Big fish dinner, Pasta everything. Way too much food

ha ha... Thanksgiving is the Holy Day of Eating in our house. It has to be the traditional southern thanksgiving.. all the recipes of relatives long past are handled with reverence...

Turkey
Cornbread stuffing
(sage, celery, pecans, sausage)

a spiral ham

mashed potatoes w/gravy

sweet potato casserole
(of course with marshmallow and pecans)

cranberry
(fresh of course... can would never do)

we have added green bean casserole

some type of steamed veggies

rolls with butter

a relish tray (mostly sliced tomatoes and such)

Pecan pie
pumpkin pie
Apple Pie
