now... why do you LOVE Boar's Head??? I buy boars head for most deli cuts. The only exception would be when I buy Publix's roast beef (the bloody end) for dh. I do so because he likes that better. He used to fuss at me for paying more for Boar's head, until I made him compar it with other brands. Saying that... you are right in that if you put a lot of other stuff on you could not really tell the difference. With a quality meat you could eat plain and it is yummy! |
I don't know what my sandwich place uses! I used to go to the Persian market a lot before when we were at the old shop. They have boar's head and they have all this crazy middle eastern and eastern european stuff that I'd never seen before. That place made the BEST sandwiches. I don't usually order sandwiches at markets other than that place. |
Oh gosh, boar's head is amazing. We'll get that stuff sometimes, or sargento cheese (for things like sliced gouda) but if its something like cheddar, store brand is fine. I usually prefere national (even if its not gourmet) brands to off brands for lunchmeat. Something about super thin ham or turkey that is that nondescript pink gives me the creeps. |
now you all made me hungry!! lol we have the good stuff but i always buy the cheapest lately with my new slim budget..and i can totally taste the difference... |
I will buy whichever meats do not contain sodium nitrates or nitrites I really like to purchase organic chicken breasts from Central Market, bake it up and use that for my lunch meat. I slice it nice and thin and a couple breasts will last me for the week. I marinate it over night in beer and seasonings (mostly garlic, salt, cheyenne pepper, lemon pepper) mmmm yummy with jack cheese or provalone. |
I always buy Boars Head meats...it's what my deli carries. :D I love the procuitto and cheeses too. But today i'm eating Kirkland brand honey ham. lol |

Well I found a new favorite deli. I don't know what brand they use but it's a Russian market and they have some strange but yummy stuff! |
I'm still addicted to Horseradish Cheddar and Roast Beef with course ground mustard  :dribble: |
OMG I can't believe it.....I found Boar's Head at an Amish deli just about 30 minutes from my house!! My brother and my dad have been going there for lunch about a couple of times a month and had been going on and on about how good their deli sandwiches were!! I am going for lunch today and taking a cooler and ice so I can buy some meat and cheese:D:D:D |
When ever I do get some from the Deli, it has to be Boars Head, Black Forrest Ham and Havarti Cheese. I have also tried the Boars Head Cajun Turkey Breast it is rather spicy but good. |
I usually buy whatever is on sale but I do prefer Boar's Head. I like ALL of it! The only problem is that my husband will devour a whole pound of Boar's Head deli meat in a couple days when I buy the good stuff. I find that Publix brand is pretty good and I like it almost as much as Boar's Head.Target deli meat is not that great to me. |
because I had been craving the buffalo chicken dip I bought Boar's Head buffalo chicken deli meat yesterday :note: :note2: DELICIOUS :note2: :note: I put a little blue cheese and thin sliced celery on and wrapped in a butter lettuce leaf :winky: |
I FINALLY GOT BOAR"S HEAD!!! Publix opened an new store about 50 miles away so we stopped yesterday. I bought for myself the chipolte chicken breast, pastrami and tavern ham for DH also bought the Colby Jack 3 pepper cheese. OK now I am hooked this stuff is sooo GOOD!!! |
