Bet it was tasty too. Yeah actually, Milo does look so serious, they were watching the public access channel-Word Girl I think was on-he pulls his lip in like that when he's concentrating-it's cute, but yeah he looks almost grumpy! |

Yep fish sauce, shrimp paste nam powder I think it's like 3 kinds of fish sauce in the Hmong kind and only one in the Vietnamese and Thai-they're all like variations I'm partial to the Hmong style it's the first I had and the one I got hooked on I was stoked when we went to a Thai Vietnamese restaurant locally (Thai wife Vietnamese husband owned a restaurant) and they had their variations there. I buy the premade bags from the Hmong stores here which are ironically owned by Hmong people and they call them Lao stores (Laotian Market). I totally bough a motor and pestol to make it-I have to make it in the back yard or everyone here complains about the smell! I just added my own pickled stuff I make also on the side to be like go with it dishes I also make sticky rice to make it a meal. Rarely I make some boiled Hmong style chicken hold the cilantro because I HATE cilantro so much I might as well be allergic to it-but I only make that when other people are going to eat it which is like never now. |

Thank you! Even my real internet bff Lisa likes cilantro for a bit. I can't wrap my head around that! Besties! Sorry Lisa, it was your tolerance of cilantro that did you in. |

Cucumber Salad is My favorite also, mine is very simular to this but still Very Good! Minus the pasta, banana peppers and the onion are not chopped but sliced into bite size peices. You can also use a hearty tomato like vine ripe or cherry. its awsome....   Quote:

Hey Former BFF, I had a Thai style squid salad today, thought you may have liked it. Although it had mint. Oh no wait Roni doesn't like mint. It did have cilantro but I picked most of it out. Ok so it was squid rings, red onion, cilantro (blech), mint, on a bed of romaine lettuce with a spicy lime dressing. I said #3 (out of 10!) and my nose was running like crazy. I like spicy but this place makes it's way spicy. I said #4 once I was tearing up. |
