Made my Tiramisu today!!!!!!! All I can say is that there should be a law against this stuff!!:p:D I cannot believe how good it turned out! My dh can barely keep hands out of it! It has a very distinct flavor of Rum, and I know a lot of you will say "the more the better"! lol I think it needed a little more coffee flavor and slightly less Rum flavor. You know, an even mixture of both. I'm not complaining, though! The dh wanted to go and get some Bailey's Irish Cream!:D Anyone have any suggestions for when I make it again? |
Heck...I don't even know what it is...:D But, it does sound yummy:) |
Suggestions??? More rum :teethysmi :sidesplt: |

I'm glad you got to make your tiramisu. I haven't had it in awhile. It's addicting, once you have some you have to go back for seconds (maybe even thirds)!:) |
Am I the only one that inhales when I am about to take a bite of tiramisu and inhale the cocoa powder on top and almost die choking? |
suggestions??? Candles, lingerie? LOL!! |
So glad it turned out good :) did you have to order the lady fingers? |

And I think your husband's quite right - you definately need Baileys - as a side glass, with lots of ice, to wash it down....!!! Oh yum!!! :D I think maybe today might be a good time to make it again? ;) :) x |
Yummy picture 1 Attachment(s) Everyone's comments were so hysterical! :grin2: Think I might consider a couple of the suggestions! :D I wanted to post a picture before we do more damage. It is already "aging" a little. The flavor got better overnight. I can taste more of the coffee flavor. This cake is as addictive as Cheetos!!! (That's very addictive!) You can't just eat one.:D |
Mmmmm. Looks so good!! I'll have a couple of pieces, please!:) |
It is hard for me not to order 2 of them rather than the meal at the restaurant! It is totally addicting! If I had a dish of Tiramisu that large, I would probably have it for breakfast, lunch and midnight snack! It looks delish! |

No, I didn't have to order them. They were under my nose the entire time in the bakery department of my local H.E.B. grocery! I found them by accident. |

While we were out and about today, we stopped and bought some Bailey's Irish Cream and some more Rum! :p:D I so wish I could send you an entire cake! Next time, I'm going to grate some chocolate strips on top and decorate it a little differently. It was one of the easiest cakes I've ever made! |

6 egg yolks 3/4 cup white sugar 2/3 cup milk 1 1/4 cups heavycream 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract 1 pound mascarpone cheese 1/4 cup strong brewed coffee, room temperature 2 tablespoons rum 2 (3 ounce) packages ladyfinger cookies 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder Directions In a medium saucepan, whisk together egg yolks and sugar until well blended. Whisk in milk and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture boils. Boil gently for 1 minute, remove from heat and allow to cool slightly. Cover tightly and chill in refrigerator 1 hour. In a medium bowl, beat cream with vanilla until stiff peaks form. Whisk mascarpone into yolk mixture until smooth. In a small bowl, combine coffee and rum. Split ladyfingers in half lengthwise and drizzle with coffee mixture. Arrange half of soaked ladyfingers in bottom of a 7x11 inch dish. Spread half of mascarpone mixture over ladyfingers, then half of whipped cream over that. Repeat layers and sprinkle with cocoa. Cover and refrigerate 4 to 6 hours, until set. |
Only 2 tbsp rum??? LOL :D |

I guess we stood more of a chance in getting tipsy on the Bailey's Irish Creme, huh? :scratchhe:laugh: That's why I'm going to make another one this week. Needs some tweaking! |
I'm going to put this in my "to make" dessert list :D |
