Dollar Tree Ribeyes
 
I just purchased several frozen 3 oz. Ribeyes;) for $1.00 each from the Dollar Tree. They are very thin and look like they'd be perfect for a steak sandwitch or a steak-n-eggs breakfast - which is what we are having for dinner tonight.

If we don't like them as "steak" I'm sure that Lollie and Peppy will enjoy them or as a last resort, I'll cut out the small amount of fat and make jerky.

Our Dollar Tree has those, but I have been afraid to buy them. Let us know how they are..and never thought about making jerky from them..Great idea:)

Lol, good idea on the jerky. I bought some dollar store hot cheese for nachos and my sons will never let me hear the end of that one. It was in a small can, I had no idea it would be so bad, but I don't buy unknown food brands there anymore. We use to eat Steakums for steak sandwiches, are they anything like that?

Sounds like the rib eyes from murray's meats. Are those still around?.
Our dollar tree sells wine....a dollar bottle of wine is probably the perfect accompaniment to their steaks. Lol.
They also sell pregnancy tests...and I thought omg, I didn't ever believe the results from the ones which cost 10 bucks.

I'd be kind of afraid of their meat because so many of their brands are those I've never heard of & I wonder about their methods of handling food, storage, etc. Report back after dinner!!! :D

Enjoy those steaks Cindy, they could be good for sandwiches, maybe even fajitas? Let us know.:)

I ran out of paper napkins & stopped into one of those stores for some. They are so thin they tear when you move one. I have just never heard of most of the brands of actual food that is not snack food from known companies.

I understand the economy is hurting a lot of people very bad. The dollar menu at any fast food place is a better option. I had a ribeye from The Dollar Tree, - Chains - Chowhound
Sounds like it got two thumbs up from Gabe her dog!

Dollar store wine, have you tried it yet?

They have a limit on the wine...10 bottles a day....so since I drink 11 I passed.lol
Don't even ask about the pregnancy tests...rather glad I have no need for those. Actually if I had that need, I'd would've settled for 10 bottles of wine.

Package of 10 condoms for after - 1 dollar
Pregnancy test you need a couple months later - another dollar
Total cost under 5 bucks....priceless.

I can't even buy meat at the regular grocery store and have to buy from the farmer or whole foods. So I know I could not purchase or eat a $1 steak. I would not even feed it to my dogs. I don't mean any disrespect but seriously how can they even package it for $1???

These were only 3 ounces, so that's like a meat costing $5.00 a pound. Not that I want to taste test it. :D
