My Dad is a hunter and gave me Moose from his last hunting trip. It is moose steak???? I haven't built up the courage to figure out how to wiggle it in a recipe yet. I am thinking of putting it in DH's chili and seeing if he notices! ;)

Moose? I wonder how that would be?! Gamey? LOL People say lamb is gamey and I can't taste the "game" in it.

I asked Shinja's husband, Alan (who is from Canada) he says Moose is much less gamey than venison!

I think I've had venison before. They make burgers out of that right? Our Fuddruckers here has exotic meat burgers and I've tried them all. I prefer beef or lamb, and they don't have lamb there. LOL

ground venison is the meal of the week for Sugar and Curri ~ I love love love it myself :D

venison is deer...burgers?? never heard of venison burgers before ....and i will let u know if i like the shrimp sushi!

I went to a bbq awhile ago and they were serving 'horse'....HECK NO I didnt try it!! The ones that did try it said it was really good though, to me it looks tough!

I hear they serve horse sashimi in Japan. :eek: I thought it wasn't legal to eat horse until a while ago? Or am I wrong? I don't know if I could eat horse. =/

Our venison is never gamey. The gamey taste comes from the blood, so Hubby keeps it on ice and drains off all the water and blood every day until it runs clear...never had gamey tasting venison in 14 yrs of marriage. We don't buy store bought meats (too much crap added to them) so venison is mostly it for us. Every once in a while wild hog and duck, but not too often.

I recently tried buffalo. It was okay. Nothing special.

I'm trying to get my courage up for something crazy like rabbit, squirrel or snake.
