Which Food Memory Smells Transport you...... :thinking:Somewhere else in your mind or past? I always relate every event in my life to the food that was eaten, especially those eaten on Holidays or Vacations. Meatballs Curry Chilaquilas Lamb Turkey Dinners  there I go again........:2plane: :hmmm33: :wavey: What food memories or smells transport you? |
Ha ha. Well this might gross some people out. But I remember my momma making sauerkraut and weiners. Stinky but yummy!! I also remember the best pinto beans in the world from my Granny Jewel. (RIP) No one in the world makes pintos like she did!! |

Bourbon is so distinctive smelling ~ I can smell it and be transported back to an Irish Pub in St. Augustine! We had some good times in that Pub  |
My Grandma used to drink the Orange Pekoe tea in the metal cans..... As a little girl I would keep the empty cans to sniff. I can still feel her beside me in the kitchen if I smell an Orange Pekoe can. Even today! |

The smells of... sugar cookies baking peanut butter cookies peanut brittle chicken and dumplings green beans take me bake to my grandma's kitchen and holidays at her house. She is still living and 88 years old and the best cook ever to this day!!! I have lots of her recipes but my stuff never turns out as good as hers. |

Ohhhhh....food memories...!!! :D Christmas cigars... Flapjacks baking... My mum's herby beef casserole.... Bread baking... 'Camp' coffee (my grandma couldn't afford 'real' coffee)... Fresh crab in Cornwall... To name but a few.... :) |

What is camp coffee? Bread baking.....ahhhhhh   :2plane: |
Good morning! :) 'Camp' coffee was/is a liquid instant coffee in a bottle (it looks a bit like HP sauce?). I had a quick google of it this morning actually - it's still available on Amazon!! Goodness knows how old those bottles are...:D |
This thread brought tears to my eyes! Turkey dinner - Dad, lost my dad (and the greatest turkey dinners ever) a couple years ago, he was the family cook...he made a stuffing that we all try to replicate...we can't - God I miss my Dad...! Also, the smell of pork sausages takes me back to my first apartment, pregnant...still can't eat those little buggers today.. |

But then again, I don;t drink coffee :cup: at all! |

Pork sausages  I just found out about a sausage making company/restaurant here in Sarasota that I need to try  |
When I was pre-school, I thought there was not better smell than vanilla ice cream. That was in the 1940's and I can still smell it today. They just don't make ice cream today like they use to. Off the food smell subject, my favorite smell was my patent leather shoes my grandmother (who raised me) would only let me wear to church. Patent leather just doesn't smell the same as they did back then either. |

Every time I smell a bologna sandwich, not a freshly made sandwich, but one that has sat in a bag getting somewhat warm, it immediately takes me back to elementary school. I can't help but smile when I smell that smell.... |
