Halogen Cooker 2 Attachment(s) We have been using a Halogen cooker for some time now but when we mention it we get looks as if we have just arrived from Mars. Joan also uses a thing called an Actifry and between the two the main oven is now redundant. Due to the strange looks we get I was wondering how many YT's use these machines and do you have any special recipes you can share. This is the Halogen Cooker : Attachment 361238 This is the Actifry Attachment 361239 |
Never heard of either. Looks interesting though! |

I have seen them around for years (mostly on infomercials) but never tried one. Good to know that so many people seem to love them (based on reviews!!) I may have to try one :D:D |
Wow! I never have heard of them either. But I think I will check them out! :) |
ETA I think I will NOT be tasting her food though   :sidesplt:   |
They use a fraction of the electricity an oven uses and if you can cook a food in an oven then it will cook in the Halogen cooker. We make cakes, bread as well as cooking all our food in it. We never ever use out ordinary oven now. I have to admit I am surprised we don't have a post saying they have one but early days yet. |

I've seen Halogen cookers on late night infomercials and at the As Seen on TV store in the mall, but haven't ever used one. My friend has the T-Fal fryer. She makes french fries (chips) with very little oil using it. They taste ok....definately better than when she tried baking them in the oven and seasoning them to save calories...but not as good a real deep-fried ones..with lots of vinegar & salt :D *oh...and the fryer was expensive! But her hubby has heart issues, so they felt it was worth it. |

I have spoken to a few people who have the fryer and I can not believe they all say they only use it for Chips (that's English for Fries...lol) Joan uses hers for all sorts of things from roast vegetables to soup or stews. Sausage is another things she will do in it preferring that to the Halogen for this sort of food. This is a versatile cooker limited by imagination in many cases. Now the Halogen cooker is so different never a day goes by without Joan using her beloved cooker. We even have one on standby in the attic and that came in handy over Christmas when she had both on the go. They are just so inexpensive as well as in UK we can pick them up for less than £30 ($46.62) Hyundai Halogen Oven 7 Litre Easy to operate,Easy... |

I have a NuWave infrared cooker and use it all the time. I have never done cakes in it, but it is great for biscuits, pizza, toast and I even do boiled eggs. The boiled eggs are neat..you put the egg in there shell and all and they come out perfect every time. |

I am not too sure but I believe that "infra red" cookers are a different thing altogether to Halogen light. I have never used infra-red so I stand to be corrected. |
