Not yet - it's Andy's weekend off coming up, and we're going into town to have a good look (he's a bit like that!!). Then we'll come home and I'll order it off the internet - he needs to be humoured! ;) :D |

Congratulations, you are the first American I know of to have one of these cookers. So strange that every person I know who has one, and that is a few I can tell you, have all cooked a chicken as the first item...lol I hope you have many hours of fun as we do with ours. I made my own bread rolls, yes me, a fella, using the thing and Joan baked some beautiful cakes in it. I find it so easy to make my beloved scones which I do when Joan is out and I get bored....lol |
I too have a NuWave oven and it cooks and bakes GREAT! |

2 Attachment(s) I thought I would show you a fruit cake which Joan has made this morning. This took 1.25 minutes at 140 deg c Please note the timer is only for 1 hour so remember to keep a close watch for it turning off or do what Joan does. Turn it on then after 15 minutes turn it back to the hour point again without a break in the time. Attachment 362364 Attachment 362365 Should any reader want the recipe just yell. |

OK here is the recipe but don't let anyone else on here read it will you....:D All-in-one Pan Fruit Cake Makes one 20 cm/8 in cake 350g or12 oz or 2 cups dried mixed fruit (fruit cake mix) 100 g or 4 oz or half cup butter or margarine 100 g or 4 oz or half cup soft brown sugar 150 mll or quarter pint or 2 thirds cup water 2 large eggs, beaten 225g or 8 oz or 2 cups self-raising (self-rising) flour 5 ml or 1 tea spoon ground mixed (apple-pie) spice Put the fruit, butter or margarine, sugar and water in a pan, bring to the boil, then simmer gently for 15 minutes. Leave to cool. Stir in spoonfuls of the eggs alternately with the flour and mixed spice and mix well. Spoon into a greased 20 cm or 8 in cake tin (pan) and bake in a pre*heated oven at 140'C/275'F/gas mark 1 for 1 to 1 and a half hours until a skewer inserted in the centre comes out clean. If you can resist eating it at this point leave to cool but keep the kids and husband away from the kitchen. Do not eat all at once just it as quick as possible and don’t tell the family you made it or they may want you to share. |
Oh Thank you, I will be making this soon it sounds DELICIOUS.. today I have to go out I will purchase the ingredients.. again thanks, CArmen |
2 Attachment(s) I am still struggling to believe that there are so few Americans using this cooker. In UK it is so popular. Come on YT's, surely there are more of you with a Halogen Cooker ????? This shows my lovely lady baking cakes again. Attachment 362643 Attachment 362644 |
