I have been out of the kitchen since the end of June due to my leg surgery, so I'm out of the "cooking habit". I hope to initiate some new tasting rules for myself. 1) Taste only when absolutely necessary 2) Use a baby spoon for dipping out sample 3) Put only a dab on the tip of the baby spoon Hopefully this will help in keeping off the pounds I've shed during my recovery. |

I am also going to implement a 20 minute rule. If I want a second helping (after a first helping of adequate size ) then I need to wait 20 minutes after eating to see if I am truly still hungry or just in love with eating :D I am also not going to waste calories on sub par food. If I don't LOVE it, I will discontinue eating it :p Lets see if I can stick to it :sidesplt: |
don't count on it :) i love to eat |

Allergic..... I would give anything to be able to just eat something and not have to worry about a reaction! |
That sucks, I feel for you :( |

I have a SIL who is a Celiac ~ that would be a tough life for me to live :( We cruised together last November and I was pleasantly surprised at how much she WAS able to eat tho. Not near what I was able to eat, but more than I imagined possible for her... |
What is that? |
I don't have a clue |
LOL thanks Betty. I was asking Lisa. :D |
Celiac disease - sprue - PubMed Health Basically its a gluten intolerance. And gluten is in everything  |
Oh... I hear a lot of people are allergic to gluten and they don't even know it. That's why they feel so gross after eating, and just blame it on the itis. |
She has multiple problems but the Celiac is one that she for sure needs to watch. She even has separate pans and plates, utensils and toaster oven  |
Has anyone ever tried the ghost chili???  |
Oh hell no. That is just stupid hot. |

So far, I'm allergic to dairy, eggs, wheat, citric acid (found in almost everything), iodiide (the stuff in fish and salt) and red and yellow dyes. We are still testing for other things. I can't eat out, or take any vitamins or supplements right now. It truly sucks! I can have apples and broccoli though. Bananas are iffy, |
Oh man. :( That sucks. |

OMG......I'm sorry :( I can't imagine my diet being that limited.....I know my SIL does fairly well with finding gluten free choices, but adding in the other things would make it pretty difficult  |
so i saw the posts on the pizza cheese on the chin. i've done that. my roomie in college did a pretzel with cheese inside and got the cheese on her chin and it left blisters. horrible... i think i almost threw up from eating the tiny pinky drop of the buffalo wild wings blazin sauce. i don't think i'd do well with any major hot chilis. i need to go test my scoville scale. see how hot i can do. |

Does anyone remember when they were called BW3? Buffalo Wild Wings and Weck Buffalo Wild Wings - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia |
Just saw this thread. I'm definitely a spice person. I adore seasonings, but not to overseason. Like if you have a delicate fish, you want to subtly season/spice it, so that the fish flavour itself isn't overpowered. But with more robust meats/dishes, more robust seasonings. I love when you eat something there is the formost flavour, and then bam, another flavour burst upon your tongue. My pet peeve is that for the "exotic spices" they sell them in too big of a jar. I like fresh spices, and if there is a spice you only use once in awhile, then it goes stale. Cardomon, Cinnamon, Tumeric. I do have a spice grinder and I'm slowly switching over to buying fresh unground spices. I do like salt but rarely cook with it; but with other spices and various types of fresh ground pepper I do. Adore garlic, and parsley and cilantro. Thyme, marjoram, and basil. |

I had to be whisked away to the ER before for cross contamination...and during a wonderful dinner at a beautiful restaurant because my parents were visiting from Texas. :( I felt so bad and kept apologizing..my mom was just being mom and telling me not to worry about it. |
