I went to the market last night, and walked by the bakery. I smelled the doughnuts, yummy, yet there were none left. So I looked for some cookies. I ended up with a pack of croissants. :p |
i dont cook too many unusal things, but i love going out to eat and trying new things. i dont like too spicy hot. but do like different seasonings. love all different ethnic type foods, Greek, Chinese, Japanese, Thai, Italian, some Indian, Irish, Jewish, Polish, Carribean, ..... and all others, just love to eat!!! love em all :) |
[QUOTE=capt_noonie;3675964]Isn't sumac the red powder stuff in persian food? I've been eating that stuff for years, I didn't know there was a poisonous variety! Isn't sumac like poison ivy? or related |
I love...LOVE ragu sauce.. like a marinara over pasta. That is my favorite flavor, and I like it well seasoned. I like hot.. just not so hot that it hurts.. I guess a 5 or 6 As for hot, in my house it is hard. My dh does not like spice or hot at all. He likes flavor but not hot or spicy. So that leaves out Indian, Mexican and many other types of food. I was raised in the south and we like our black pepper.. not dh. I love the spices of Indian, Greek, Mexican, Italian, Asian and most all foods. |
99% of the time I'm a 3, lol. I like flavor, LOVE ground black pepper but don't really like spicy things. I do love General Tso Chicken if it's done right-and makes my eyes water & nose run. Other than that I like lot's of herbs, onions, garlic, & the pepper-people say I make it too hot with that but I just don't taste it. The only "International" cuisine I like is Chinese/Japanese, Italian & some French. Maybe some others but you get the idea that I have no cultural variation. I don't like to try new things & smells turn me off in a heartbeat from even trying if I don't like the scent. I wish I was more varied, but over-all I'm a pretty picky plain Jane.;) |

I love spicy and heat. Many Italian type spices bother me so I'd rather fix my own than to eat it at a restaurant. My heat scale would probably be a 7-8. I would fit well in the south with cajun, creole type foods. |

IMO I think the scale should be 1-5. 1-10 is just too many increments. Like I can't decide between 3, 4, or 5. Can I just say medium? LOL |

I agree on the scale. I usually ask for Hot. I will eat it hot enough to work up a bit of a sweat. My dad is a big gardner and we used to have hot salsa tasting contests with his peppers. I never could out do him, but I sure tried. I love Asian foods too but don't know if I have ever really had Thai. I also love hot mustard and horse radish, and it can sure burn your nose. LOL |
