| Natural Remedies... Lets share! So I was thinking I'm always up for trying as many natural remedies with the price of cold medicine and all other stuff so expensive. So what do you do to fight away colds, pms, headaches, anything! Here are my sore throat remedies: -steam in a sink - with a pot of boiling water and 2-3 drops eucalyptus oil, cover with a towel and stick your head in, add cool water if it is too hot to get your head in. - tea is best for sore throats - DO NOT DRINK LEMON when you have a sore throat, it dries the vocal cords out and makes your throat hurt more - 1 tsp olive oil in a bottle of room temp water shaken well, is supposed to coat your vocal cords to prevent sore throat and laryngitis in singers, speakers but it tastes dreadful and should be started slowly. So what do you do to get rid of things?

| If I wake up with a headache, I take 2 aspirins with a cup of coffee and take a hot shower and it helps alot. Also I grow lavender and if you smell the lavender it takes the edge off of a headache. Doesn't make it go away but it's manageable. I keep lavender soap in my dresser drawers to keep moths away-plus it makes the clothes smell nice too! My cousin used to suffer from seasonal allergies and my uncle would make him sip apple cider vinegar and it helped him. |

| oh I love this thread Well.... I push tea a lot!! But some ole wives tales that I grew up on... My brother was born with asthma and my mother heard the hair of a chihuahua would cure the asthma. So... my first dog was a little chihuahua She bite me several times (I was 7 and wanted to walk her... well drag her down the street) But my brother's asthma went away... hmmmmmmm never came back

| I HATE doctors (for myself!) so I am always trying natural things. Jewish Penicillin (Chicken Soup) really works! I swear And it works better and faster if my mom makes it for me. Also tea with honey. I get really bad migraines so I have to take medication for that- but a really cold washcloth on my neck plus a pitch black room does seem to help speed up the relief.

| Peppermint tea is the best for an upset stomach (for me). I have lot's of stomach issues so I drink a LOT of Emmetrol (nausea), it's like Cola Syrup-basically a ton of sugary syrup or some flat coke can help. For PMS seclusion works best, LOL, JK. But those Thermacare heat patches do work wonders for any kind of body ache. I don't think it's natural but it can prevent popping ibuprofen or Aleve. Gargling with salt water really does help a sore throat...somehow. Like said earlier, lavender can help with total relaxation which can ease aches & pains & help you sleep. I have a spray I spray on my pillow on occasion.

| 7Up. It's the cure for everything. No joke, upset tummy, got some 7Up? seriously, for colds, and sore throats, I love eucalyptus tea. My dad makes the best tea. Boil a few eucalyptus leaves, poor out a cup and add honey and lime juice. It tastes really good, and it's always made me feel better.
