My wonderful next door neighbor brought dinner - barbecued ribs, barbecued chicken, kernel corn, mashed potatoes and three pieces of toasted garlic bread. I was just wondering what to have for dinner when the doorbell rang!

We've just had a 'full English' breakfast....a bit late as we're still quite full from last night's Chinese :eek: x

Sally, it was a bribe! They had a fairly loud about 2-hour party with a live musical group in their backyard starting not 45 mins. later!!!! LOL. They have this party about once, twice a year - otherwise, you never hear noise from them next door. And I'm sitting right by a huge den window at the time that is still letting some of the muffled sound in though it's doubled-paned, energy efficient, etc. I put on my White Noise Ocean between my head and the window, slid down on the couch with Tibbe and watched TV, went to sleep so I guess the BBQ had a drug in it or something! LOL. I slept for 2 hours and when I woke up, all was quiet though all the cars were still out front. I guess it got cool enough they took it inside. Never heard another peep from them so I don't know when they all went home. But I would say overall - that wonderful pork was worth it! :)

Some candy, that my husband makes, it is my favorite. He puts Hershey pieces, coconut, caramel, cranberries, raisins, pecans, walnuts, mini marshmallows, almonds together in the microwave till the chocolate and caramel has melted to the right consistently then spreads evenly onto a waxed papered lined pan. Lets it cool. Cuts into squares and stores in tins. Makes great little thank you gifts. I love this candy waaaay too much!

Oh, Sally, you guys and your soft egg on pizza!!! :D This American is so confused! Is it just one egg right fried put right in the center and then do you puncture the yellow and let it run around on the top or how and what happens once the egg gets on top? We don't have that over here and I want to see how it all works so I can try it on a little pizza to see if I like it.

Pizza places are closed here today!

Well, when we've prepared our pizza ready to put in the oven, I crack an egg on the top, just as it is...then put it in the oven at about 190 degrees for about 14 minutes....et voila!!! :D All of it is cooked and ready for you to pull off the crust and dip into the geggy yolk....so scrummy, I could eat another one right now!!! :D x

Coal slaw, pickled asparagus, vegi cracker, comby jack, salami, rolo with raspberry, black olive and a salt and vinegar chip...gitta taste test the snacks!

So at 14 minutes cooking, the egg yolk is still soft? I would have thought it would be hard as a rock. But it is soft & you dip pizza pieces in egg yolk, right? And it is good?

:D It is in MY oven, but obviously they all vary so much - it's trial and error :)

Of course the other way is the one you suggested, just fry an egg and put it on top afterwards. Thing is I ADORE eggs, especially with geggy yolks, and yes....it is VERY scrummy!!! :D x

It sounds that an odd combination of tastes but I will try most anything culinary at least once. I have got to get brave enough to try this as it sounds like it is very, very good to you & I hate to miss out on something wonderful if it is out there just waiting for me. It seems, though, as if the bland egg would rather blunt some of the Italian spicey sauciness from the flavors of the pizza. No? Do you cover the egg with spices or just leave it virginal atop the pie, if I'm not getting too personal? :blush: ;)
