Too much food??? Does anyone else have enough food to live off from for a month? I seriously could ~ and need to! I will of course need to buy bread and milk and fresh veggies Am I the only one who needs a "No Buy May"?? |
:sidesplt: I guess I DO have a problem ;) I am now living alone and still buy food like there are 5 of us living here :D |
I will come visit and you can feed me:D |

You already did and we didn't eat enough  I guess you just need to stay longer next time :D Making tomato sauce out of 60 pounds of tomatoes did NOT help my situation any :sfunslap: |
we ate plenty;)... just not from your emergency stores... yes, next time longer. |
Oh yeah, I'm right there with you....I believe I just may be a food hoarder, LOL Seriously, it's just me, DH and Zhoie, my freezer is packed, my pantry is full of cans. But I still feel when I go to the grocery store, I'd better stock up  I'm thinking I have a problem with food hoarding and clothes/toy shopping for Zhoie. To sad....but oh so true. |
I do too, but it's because my grandmother buys me my non-perishable food when I go home, she is a bit of a hoarder, we call her basement the "store" and I go "shopping" every time I go home.. Ok I'm bad, but I love my grandmother if it wasn't for her I definitely wouldn't be able to make it through school (I'm paying for it myself). I should try to have a no-buy May.... |
We need to switch places. There are at least 3 of us here at home, but the fridge is emptier than my fridge when I was in college. |
I always over buy food. My first downfall is that I was a prep cook in a hospital so I always feel like I have to have a back up of everything. But there are two of us here, not like 300, lol. But I do do a lot of batch cooking, etc. I get so annoyed at my DD and myself when our supply's not fully loaded & we whine "oh, there's nothing to eat"! Puh-lease! |
I seriously could eat out of my freezer and pantry for 2 months! I don't know why I even GO to the grocery store  I stop in the store for milk and it costs me $100!! |
I have the opposite problem, I usually don't have enough food! I HATE shopping- I can never think of what I want when I go. So I end up shopping every day for what I need that day- lol. Right now, my fridge and freezer is filled because my parents are having their kitchen remodeled and they dumped all their food here since they don't have a fridge/ freezer hooked up. |
I should have a "No Buy May" - for some reason, my freezer and my pantry are full of food and I still feel the need to go grocery shopping every week! Of course, right now I can't think of anything here I want to eat for dinner because I am lazy and don't want to cook. Apparently I need to start investing in convenience foods. |

Shall we see how long we can go without buying more than produce, bread and milk?? :D I could really use the boost in the wallet this would give me as well :thumbup: We could even share/suggest recipes for the food we already have on hand!! :p I could use this as a personal challenge to see how long I can make it |
We are usually packed out too. Two of us and the fridge is almost always full, plus the freezer, plus the deep freeze, plus the pantry, plus what sits out... But a lot of it is just ingredients or whatever to make things. It's not quick-grab meals, so no good to me. lol |

I TOTALLY agree......my house is full of INGREDIENTS ~ and for some reason I don't cook them as often as I should :idontknow: |

lol...i know, i know...i relapsed, just wanted some, uh, umm, i don't know what the heck i went for! lol....then my DD who always insists on mango this and mango that tells me she doesn't like real mangoes. well i guess she'll start if she wants access to the rest of the food and water! lmbo, i am JK of course, they don't call me that for nothing!:D |

ummm. well, i pinky swear not to buy anything but essentials: milk, bread and mountain dew!:D only til the end of may, it's jazz's bday on the 30th so i'm sure i'll have to feed an additional army, lol. |

Well do you have meat too??? If you have MEAT(and veg)....we can support each other in this NO BUY endeavor ;) |
I try to eat all leftovers and make a meal out of what I have (everything goes with ramen). bf on the other hand will not. I don't like having too much food sitting, or having leftovers get thrown away (but it still happens unfortunately) I just think of how much food we can easily get here and how other people in 3rd world countries are starving and here we are the fattest nation in the world. Even when I have too much I try to find a bum to give it to but there aren't any around here! Sorry to ruin your thread Lisa. :( btw the google ad above me is "90% off local eats in Los Angeles" with a pair of chopsticks holding a sorry piece of salmon nigiri. |

I've been good so far, how about you? Oh, and I have about ten boxes of cereal, so that could cover 3 meals on any given day if needed.;) |

No, you actually helped me make my point! I think its ridiculous how much food I have and I want to eat it up till it's gone so it does NOT go to waste ( but it WILL go to waist ) |
