I love lentils and Eritrea food has a lot of lentil dishes and is spicy which I love. Also the custom is to eat with your hands and scoop the food into a pancake like bread called Injera. imagine having permission to eat with your hands but you only use the right hand as the left is considered unclean:eek: | I went to an Ethiopian restaurant in Tucson on Friday and it was FABULOUS! I loved the spices they use. I am a vegetarian, but my husband is a pretty conventional meat and potatoes guy. And guess what??? He loved it too.
The menu said that only a very small part of the world's population uses a fork...most people eat with their hands (using a bread to scoop the food) or with chopsticks. We used the Injera (bread) and it was good. I wasn't crazy about the spongy consistency of the injera and I prefer Nan (Indian bread) but it was fine for the purpose.
We will definitely go back to this restaurant. |
