I'm always looking for something new especially candy recipes. :) Here's one of ours and it's very easy to make: Chocolate Date Nut Bars 1 can refrigerated crescent dinner rolls 1 cup white chocolate baking chips 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips 1 cup chopped pecans 1 cup chopped walnuts 8 oz. Pkg chopped dates 1 can sweetened condensed milk Heat oven to 375 and grease or spray 13x9 inch pan. Unroll dough into 2 long rectangles. Place in pan, press over bottom and ½ inch up sides to form crust. Bake 5 minutes. Sprinkle chips, nuts and dates evenly over curst. Pour sweetened milk evenly over top and bake 20-25 minutes longer. Cool, refrigerate until chocolate is set and cut into bars. Yummy! |
Good Thread... Shirl For all of you that have family in for Christmas :xmastree1:and need a quick Christmas Breakfast maybe this would do the trick. Quick and Easy ZIPLOC OMELET (This works great!! Good for when all your family is together. The best part is that no one has to wait for their special omelet!!!) Have guests write their name on a quart-size Ziploc freezer bag with permanent marker. Crack 2 eggs (large or extra-large) into the bag (not more then 2) shake to combine them. Put out a variety of ingredients such as: cheeses, ham, onion, green pepper, tomato, hash browns , salsa, ect. Each guest adds prepared ingredients of choice to their bag and shake. Make sure to get the air out of the bag and zip it up. Place the bags into rolling, boiling water for exactly 13 minutes. You can usually cook 6-8 omelets in a large pot. For more, make another pot of boiling water. Open the bags and the omelet will roll out easily. Be prepared for everyone to be amazed. Nice to serve with fresh fruit and coffee cake; everyone gets involved in the process and a great conversation piece. Imagine having these ready the night before, and putting the bag in boiling water while you get ready. And in 13 minutes, you've got a nice omelette for a quick breakfast!!! |

Help needed. Does anyone have a recipe for those filled Italian cookies. I'm looking for a recipe for the cookies that are filled with a type of rasbery jelly inside. They are the cookies that are oblong shaped, it's two cookies stuffed between with the jelly filling and then one half is usually dipped with chocolate and sprinkles. The cookie itself is like a soft cookie. Thanks for any help. Elaine |
Hmmm... the Toffee recipe sounds wonderful and so does the Italian filled cookie. Bet we can find that one somewhere on the internet. |

I have so many cookie recipes from years gone by:rolleyes: I was always the cookie maker in my family but stopped because now that everyone is all grown up no one wants to eat the calories! Poo on them. Elaine, I have one but I don't believe it's an Italian cookie. It's a round cookie cut out with a cookie cutter and filled in between with current jelly then the top of the cookie get's a whole in the middle for the jelly to bubble out while cooking. When cooled sprinkled with powered sugar. I guess you could put the choc frosting on it if you wanted. It's a large cookie when baked and delicious. If interested pm me and I'll send the recipe. Of course you can use any jelly you want but the current is a tiny bit tart and just goes with the sweetness of the cookie. ps. I have an Italian Ricotta cookie that get's icing on it. My daughter makes these awsome! |
