LOL, actully I do, Ilove the rain, but I hear it isnt as bad this year. My family stll lives there so I can live vicariously through them until I go home.

hey my family lives in wa too! they live in all parts bremerton, federal way,port orchard..i was raised in washington..and we got stationed in fort lewis for 6 yrs. i loved it because i was with my family.welcome to yorkie talk! so how is the weather right now i will be leaving to visit my mom next week and i was wondering what kind of clothes should i pack :D

Yup, raining like cats and dogs today. 5 day forecast says, RAIN every day at least through Monday. Good time to stay home and nap with a Yorkie or two... :)

Crazy weather this week...
 

This weeks weather has been crazy. Literally sunny one minute and pouring down rain almost hail type then back to sunny again. Today it was sunny in the morning and drizzling all afternoon with patches of sun here and there. They say the rain is suppose to let up and get sunny again this weekend but who knows. I can't give you a great forecast...only this I can say is at least it's not cold/freezing out. I'd say stay with pants and if you want to bring t-shirts I'd say bring a jacket with a hood to be on the safe side...basically pack for WA weather...he he we get rain, shine and everything in between in the same week! :cool:

I am new here also. We live in Fredrickson and have a 3 year old. He goes with us everywhere so we may run in to each other out and about. I do not like the hot weather and neither does our Yorkie so he gets a buzz cut with a shorter face this time of year.

I am new to little dogs and breeding so If anyone has any information on how I can find a female for my male AKC yorkie. I would love for him to have puppies and he REALLY needs a female to play with. I have to keep sewing up his stuffed toys. Any information would help. I have no idea how to find a female.

I am in Tacoma, too. How old is your baby? I have Rocco, age 7 and Bella age 6 months.

If I ever get thru this puppy stage and Bella eating my shoes I will be happier!! I love my yorkies, they are the best part of my day!

I just noticed that I had previously listed our little Yorkie, Wolf, as three years old. He is actually 7 years old not. When he was just a pup all he wanted to do was breed! He had a pound puppy as a love interest and we wore it out in the washing machine. We decided to just get him "fixed" after much soul searching. He still has a stuffed penguin, a monkey and a small rolled blankey and is especially fond of showing off what a lover he is when company comes over. However, his interest quickly switched to lots of other things after he was no longer able to make babies. He spends hours watching the birds, squirrels, cats, insects, other dogs and people from the backs of the couches. Wolf has never chewed on anything that was not his, except for a kleenex or paper towel that missed the garbage can. He will lick your shoes and your toes if he gets the chance.
I notice that Yorkies are going for big money these days, more as each month goes by. It concerns me because they are such special beings and also fragile. Bones fragile, too fragile to be around small or inconsiderate children. Yorkies are for sale in the News Tribune every day. Perhaps one of these breeders could help you find a female. Or try running an add yourself.

I hope you enjoy your Yorkie as much as we have. He brings much joy into our lives!

My little Charlie is 1 1/2 now. I've never had a problem with him chewy anything but his stuffed toys do go pretty fast. I stick to the rubber ball with all the holes and the braided bone.

Gosh, there seems to be a bunch of us in the same area. There is a Tacoma/ Lakewood meetup monthly, but it's always on Saturdays (bad day for me: my errand/family day). I would love to socialize Rocco & Bella with some other yorkies. Bella just wants to play, Rocco is way too mellow for her. Rocco was a rescue and never 'knew' how to play until we got Bella. Socializing him is important to me, unfortunately all my friends have bigger dogs.:aimeeyork

So, if any of you want to do something real informal in August, I would love to!

Toys
 

Wolf has a whole big plastic box of toys. He gets in there and pulls out his favorites. We put them all back in once in a while and he gets them out again. Occasionally he will fall in love with an old toy for a while. Most of his toys have been gifts from his friends but my husband loves to bring him little surprises home from the store. I also order his shampoo and freeze dried chicken treats on line. They often include a free doggie treat or I may order a squeaky toy for him when they are closing them out. He now has to see inside every box that is delivered by UPS or the mail. He also watches closely while my husband puts away the groceries in case there is a treat for him. When he was teething I gave him velvet boodah bones in chicken flavor. Now he gets greenies. I know that there has been warnings about the greenies but Wolf has not had any trouble with them and his teeth stay nice as well as his breath.

How big is your Charlie? Wolf is 7 lbs.
