Mine wouldn't eat when in hard labor. She also liked fuzzy blankets and soft things to have her babies on. Do you have a heating pad or some rice mamas ready? For my cat she would have the first one no problem and then the second I would have to help pull out and once the second one was out she would have the rest on her own.

Did yours eat before being in labour..or did they stop eating in the last 24 hours before? I do have a heating pad ready and hope I am awake when she has the babies...I dont want to miss it and I dont want to miss out if something goes wrong...god forbid..

she stopped eating a few hours before. she would eat that night and always at about 3am she would wake me up to have them. It can take a few hours for the first one to come out. when she wouold start to push she would sit up half way on her hip. When she was having trouble she would be pushing and would start to scream, then I knew i had to help her out. if you can't sleep in the same room as her can you borrow a baby monitor from someone and set it up in or near the closet? You should be able to her licking like crazy when ready to have them or having them.

Hmmm will have to look for a baby monitor at the second hand store..all of my friends are way past the baby stage...great idea though!! She has been cleaning herself much more than my other cats do and they do it alot lol..Im going upstairs to visit her again...lol..

My older cat HATES her belly or feet touched. If she is having diarrhea that could be a sign she's getting closer...

Just wanted to add that the diarreah was outside of the litter box...that was the only time she didnt go in it..she went beside it...

I'm not an expert on birthing or anything LOL. But don't human women normally poop before giving birth? Maybe she couldn't control it coming out because she's getting close??

Haha...I cant remember that one lol..she is pacing around the room..but she has been doing that for 2 days now...thanks for the imput Doc LOL..

Well with diarreah she could of been in the litter box, but it shot over the sides. I bet shes getting close.

I wouldn't worry too much about diarrhea. The pacing may be that she is undecided about the best place to have the babies. I would definitely try to check to see if she's discharging.

I was fostering two pregnant cats once and they had their babies about 4 days apart. The mom who delivered first tried to steal the other mom's babies. :eek: That was quite a fun time.:rolleyes: :rolleyes: They both did great and so did all the kittens.

Then I took in another mom with two week old babies so we had three moms and 17 kittens in the house. :) I kept them in three separate places... I was SO busy for those couple of months... man. It was fun, though, watching them being born and seeing them grown. I really enjoyed it.

Oh and when it was time to for them to go back to the humane society - I was not very sad! I did end up adopting one of the kittens though.. I totally fell in love with her. Unfortunately, she was sick with FIP and I had to have her PTS a month later.:( :(

I can't wait to see pics of your babies when they're born!!!!

No babies yet :( believe me I will post the second they are born!! She hasnt eaten today...maybe a sign? She is usually a piggy lol...

hmm...i think they say that is a sign.

it's good that she is normally eating good. sounds like she has settled a bit. i know at first you were saying she was hiding all the time and stuff.

man...i would love to have a himalayan kitten. i bet they are going to be beautiful!!

If she starts wondering around like she is looking for a spot to hide, its time, the stray's that have been let out and found my house they always come in a run around like they are looking for something or somewhere to hide...Let me know if I can help you anyway, I have been around cats having kittens, more than dogs...:)

HMMMM sounds like a good bet... Man why at bed time??? well I wont ask her to hold them in but I will say I wish you the best of luck and I'll check in in the morning ...
