My Staffordshire Bull Terrier has to have a lump removed.. Bruce is 7 and he is the love of my life! he is my shadow and follows me everywhere! We had the vet check it out today. She said we have caught it early before it got too big and it should be easy to remove..hopefully it wont be anything nasty. He has to go in Tuesday morning (21st) to have it removed. I'm probably worrying more than i would do normally but i just lost my Yorkie Heidi in may this year...just makes you realise that they won't be around forever..however much we want them to be. :animal-pa |
I use to have a staffy they are the sweetest, do you have any pics of your baby. Sending prayers your way.. |

he is a big lad! he is 47lbs of solid muscle! but so gentle & obedient...he was bossed around by a 6lb Yorkie! :p he is my sons best friend..nathan uses him as a pillow while watching TV! :) |
Indy had to have a lump removed a few months ago, it was just a harmless cyst but I was beside myself with worry, especially as following from the operation she contracted a nasty infection and was on antibiotics for weeks. Thankfully she is fully recovered now. Fingers crossed all goes well for Bruce xxx |
My prayers are with you for a speedy recovery. |
I presume that if it doesn't look like a cyst or just fatty tissue that they will send a sample off to be looked at. My bruce has never been anaesthatised before..the poor lad will wonder what is happening to him.:( |
I love this pic! 1 Attachment(s) Took this a few years back at dusk when we lived up in Scotland..He was looking for his daddy who had gone to hide from him! :) |
He is beautiful! Charlie (10 yo) had a tumor removed from his side last month and prior to removal, a needle aspiration was done. No cancer and such a big relief. Good luck and will look forward to good news for Bruce. Warmly, Deborah |
good luck to you and your baby boy! Lets hope it is minor.... d |
Bruce has been home about an hour or so and he is ok..when he first came home he kept wandering around whimpering and didn't know what to do with himself. he is now fast asleep tucked up in his bed with a blanket over him. They didn't know what the lump was that they removed so they have sent it off to be looked at. They also took bloods from him and i asked them to check his ears while he was under anaesthetic as he has had alot of problems in the past with infections etc and i had noticed over the last few days that one of his ears seemed to be irritating him a little...and they found a big GRASS SEED in there!! my poor boy..i wonder how long that had been there!! i'm so glad i asked them to check now! he has a check-up on thursday and has the stitches out in 10-12 days. Just thought i would update you all...going to cuddle up next to my baby boy for a while.:) |
He is beautiful. Sending warm thoughts your way today. |
Bruce is very unhappy and depressed looking! he keeps wandering around the house with his head hanging and crying..i don't know what to do for him..even sitting and cuddling him doesn't seem to be enough...do you think he could be in pain? he is eating though..which is a good sign..but not drinking...he has a check-up tomorrow with the vet so i will see what they say. I will get him out of the house in a bit and take him for a gentle walk round the block..see if that lifts his mood a bit. He kept me awake half the night as he kept waking up and crying..bless him...i've taken the day off work to stay with him. it's hard to see my boy like this as he is usually such a happy bouncy dog! :( |
