quick update...Bruce is back to his normal self..thank god!! he had a check-up tonight with the vet and she was happy with him and said he is healing up well. he has the stitches removed next friday. we should then get the results from the lump they removed and sent away to be analysed. |
that is surely good news to hear! d |
Hope everything goes well. Prayers coming your way. |
The vet rang today with the results and it is a malignant mass (stage 2 cancer) she has sent his details to a cancer specialist to see if they recommend any further treatment as they have already cut out the lump and some of the surrounding skin. we should know more on friday when we take him in to have his stitches removed. I feel a bit numb to be honest..seems especially tough to take after just saying goodbye to my yorkie girl in may this year. I wasn't really expecting it to be bad news...he is such a healthy bouncy dog so happy & full of energy. It's kind of taken the shine off picking up my new baby girl Pixie in a couple of weeks.:( |
So sorry about your news. Prayers for you and Bruce. |
sending prayers for bruce and your family. hoping they removed all the cancer and he is feeling himself soon. |
Another update on Bruce... Our vet has sent his details to an Oncologist in Cambridgeshire (2-3 hrs or so from us) she said that they are not the nearest to us but the best..they now want our vet to send them a sample of the mass they removed so they can look at it themselves and they are not sure if it could even be a grade 3 cancer (which i think means it may have affected all the lymph nodes?) they have suggested maybe our vet go back in where they removed the lump and take more of the margin to make sure they got all of it and our vet wants to have him in to scan his liver & spleen etc and check his lymph nodes. so now we are just waiting to see what the Oncologist will recommend...the wait is killing me and i'm an emotional wreck to be honest with you..you wouldn't think he has anything wrong with him..he looks so healthy..shiny coat, rippling muscles..full of energy...its hard to believe.:( |
any updates on bruce? i hope he's doing better |
Just Showing Some Staffy Love!!!!!!!! We lost one of ours this past November to tortion. His name was Morpheus. While his ears weren't correct, his structure was loved by many judges and breeders. Staffies are a unique dog and I think that when Taylor is old enough, I'll get her one as her first dog. I hope all is well w/ your pups results! http://i145.photobucket.com/albums/r...tunningSBT.jpg http://i145.photobucket.com/albums/r...March06015.jpg http://i145.photobucket.com/albums/r...orpheus018.jpg http://i145.photobucket.com/albums/r...orpheus040.jpg |

Another update... The vets rang today with the results from the referral centre.. The Oncologists have said it is a stage 2 cancer and that there is no need for chemotherapy at this time. Our vet will want to give him a check up in a few weeks and we will keep a close eye on him in the meantime. I cried with relief today..and i have just come back from a lovely hour and a half walk with him in the late summer sunshine. :animal36 Thanks to all who took the time to read this post and leave messages of support. |
Thanks for the update! Cherish every moment. |
