				   | Meet Bentley, he is a 11 week old maltese. I got him so Hannah would have a playmate, but she doesn't like him. He is not allowed to play with any of her toys and she get mad if he sits in my lap and she doesn't want him on her blankets. I thought she would love him but she is so mean to him. She will just run up to him and bite him for no reason. I feel sorry for him. I never though she would be so jealous. She is only 7 months old and she acts like a older hateful dog. I hope things get better. They both seem so sad sometimes. He is soooo sweet and lovable. We all love him so much, except Hannah. I sometimes feel like I have made a terrible mistake. Any advise/reassurance that she will come around to liking him would be appreciated. Thanks... |

				   | Aww, he is such a cutie!! I have two maltese girls. You should join us over at maltese talk!! As for them getting along, just give them some time. It takes time for them to get use to each other and start getting along. But before long they will be best friends!! Just make sure Hannah is still getting lots of attention, and make sure she is always first with everything; first to be fed, first to be petted, etc. Good luck with your little boy, he is so adorable!!

				   | I try to let her know that she is still #1 but she won't have anything to do with me. She just looks at me with those sad eyes.... |

				   | Oh my! Bentley is adorable! I added Chandler, my maltese, when Phoebi was just 15 months old. She acted the same exact way....very jealous, wouldn't share a thing. She is better now....5 years later! Maltese tend to be so laid back and just go with the flow....makes a great match with a yorkie. I'm sure they'll work it out amongst themselves. Enjoy your new baby...he really is a beauty.

				   | It sounds like the little Princess has her nose out of joint right now. Give her some time. If she liked playing with other pups before you brought Bentley home, she'll eventually warm up to him. He is a little cutie pie!!!

				   | Thanks. She seems hurt at me though, like I have betrayed her in some way. This is my first maltese. They ARE really laid back. Hannah runs circles around him. We have fallen completely in love with him. He weighs 3.2 lbs at 11 weeks old so he is going to probably be big but thats ok. I saw a sign in town that said "maltese puppies for sale". The breeder was in my town visiting her mother from Michigan. I stopped in to "just take a look"....and I left with Bentley. I paid $500.00 for him and he is AKC and his father is DNA testing (if that even matters). I usually am not that impulsive, but I couldn't leave without him....am I crazy? |

				   | Hang in there, and remember, dogs are pack animals, she might have her nose out of joint, but getting her a little buddy was a GOOD thing. Don't let her make you feel guilty. I've always had two dogs, at the moment we have three (for the first time ever)...they always eventually work it out. Good luck!

				   | I thought he was so cute and I heard that the maltese and yorkies really got along good together. I was really close to getting another yorkie, I even had one picked out, but then I have always wanted a maltese too, and then I found him and everything fell into place. |
