Beautiful Gail!!! Congrats on the new addition!!!

Got your exciting message and just now seeing this thread, read just a bit and skipped to the end and just watched the video! It's finally all come true, over and done with and you got your special puppy after all the wondering, hoping, frustrations and waiting!!! What a darling puppy Dara is and little Razzle is just gorgeous! Dara is one big puppy! She already dwarfs little Razz. I can only imagine how big she is going to be full grown! Wow! You two certainly have a wonderful family! Congratulations on the beautiful new charmer and may she be all that your dreams had envisioned and I hope Razzle and she settle in together beautifully. I'm so envious of you! :)

Awh thank you. She weighs 21 lbs lol. She is on three meals a day, which the boys find very unfair! She is still trying to nurse from Magic, she thinks he is her Momma - she is a tad confused. Magic is having none of it, and is being a grouchy boy.

Razzle has his nose out of joint, but they will work it out. Razzle has had two mini grooming sessions with Dara laying on my feet, but the focus was totally him, and he loved it.

I had forgotten how clumsy the big pups are. She first night tried to jump off my air mattress onto the GelPro Mat, and landed on her chin. LOL LOL
She swims up the 3 inch height onto the air mattress. And this lady has a powerfull set of lungs on her. :D She is now trying to climb our baby gates, and has knocked them over, and successfully today, climbed over the knocked down gate, to come into the holiest of sanctums the KITCHEN. She was very proud of herself!

She is going to be a dominant female, but does have a sweet persona. She already sits, and comes when called, within the house. But she loves to chew, and bite inhibition is as always with this breed very important. I am constantly replacing with chew toys. In the 2.5 days we have had her, already there is an improvement in her bite inhibition! Smart gal.

Her most fervent wish is to climb up onto the chair I sit in, but she can't do it yet. I tell her, sweetie don't bother, you are already almost too big for my lap;)

Potty training is hit or miss, and I need to keep her inside for the next 2wks or so. Before we do the outside training.

It is so very wonderfull to have a new puppy in our home.

I think Razzle thinks she's his new playmate and will be disappointed when she grows up!

Well RAzzle is quite jealous of her. He is toy guarding like I have not seen before. I let him discipline her, when she goes to step on him, or plays too hard. She needs to respect Razzle, she already respects Magic. In the long run, she needs to learn her place. Most especially as she is going to be a dominant dog. So the foundation of training as you know is very important.

I am so proud of her, she already comes when called, and will sit too! She is a great eater, which is good, although we need some more time to see if she develops a sensitive stomach. I have touched her all over and there are no sensitive spots, and even gave her belly rubs! All good reactions.
The only one spot is examining her teeth, she is not too fond of that;)

Personality wise she is everything as we expected. Structure is purty good too. She has her faults, all dogs do, and there is nothing I see that can't be a function of age, and or conditioning. Most importantly she so far exhibits the right temperament for the breed! This gal loves to work and is focussed on her humans.

I know I am gushing here, but I am so very happy to have her in our home.

Dara sounds so wonderful, and your videos are so much fun to watch. Those are such big toys! I can already feel from you the overwhelming feeling of love and pride that our furry ones bring to us. Razzle is a brave little boy, and I can tell that your little houseguest is doing so well under your care. She seems inquisitive about Dara's presence. Enjoy each precious moment with all of them, and I can't wait to hear the stories when you begin training. I love that Dara is so focused on you. So many people remark about how much Katie is always looking at me, particularly to see me give my approval of what she does. I've always had my dogs watch me, but it's different with Katie. Dara's eye contact will make it so much easier to train, even with her strong personality. You have so many exciting times ahead, and I've delighted for you.

Gail, I just saw you video -- Dara is darling! Razzle is so excited. How sweet to see both of those little tails wagging.

It's so fun to see a BRT as a small puppy. How long does it take for them to grow to adult size?

I am for sure! Depending on the line, anywhere from 2yrs to almost 3yrs old. THe full muscle mass and head widening, are the last to develop. Growth plates won't close until at least 18months old, maybe longer.

Looks like you all are enjoying Dara and she's having a ball! I'm still green with envy!

I am still pinching myself too! Such a long long wait over 2 yrs closer to three.

I am trying to take as many pics as I can, and videos too, they don't stay small for long:D

I am very happy to hear that Dara is proving to have an excellent disposition and is already taking to training well.

I have said many times that I will never have another puppy, but I think you are giving me the puppy bug!
