Introducing our new kids!! 4 Attachment(s) I mentioned awhile ago we were thinking of adopting from a rescue, and now I am proud to present Kash and Lucy! They have been in our family for about a month now and they are fitting in very well. Kash is male, and was considered a senior by the rescue when he first came in, but after getting groomed and now more comfortable with us, I am sure he is no more than 4 years old. He has a ton of energy and plays like a puppy! He is very limber and has no troubles running or jumping or trying to get all the attention! The rescue called him a Bichon cross, but we think he is a maltese cross, and our vet thought so too. Since he was taken in by the rescue, he was neutered and had to have his front teeth removed because they were in bad shape. Lucy is female, and the rescue thought she is 8-10 years old, and I thought so too at first, but now I think she may be younger as well. She is a yorkie cross! We think she may be crossed with shih-tzu or something like that. Her tail curls over her back, and she has a soft thick coat of fur, but doesn't shed. She is much more timid and she loves to hide in a den, whether it be her crate or her little padded velcro dog house we got for her to sleep in at night! She jumps and runs away when someone makes a sudden move, so it seems she may have been abused before. Just in the past month she has gotten much more open with us, running around and greeting us when we get home, and she actually just started playing with toys last week! At the rescue she had quite a bit of dental work done. She is left with just three teeth, but she is happy to eat softened kibble, and she knows she gets the special soft treats which they all think taste better! She also had some mammary tumors removed, but luckily none were cancerous. These two were abandoned together at a vet's office, and nobody ever came to claim them so the rescue took them in. They were severely matted and their teeth were black, but they were together and they always want to be together. If one goes outside, they wait outside the door on the deck for the other to come so they can run down the stairs and pee in the yard together! They are quite attached to each other, and it's really cute! |
3 Attachment(s) I wanted to add a few more pictures :D Here is Kash giving my fiance, Scott, some kisses :) Kash was trying on Layla's pj's and he was getting pretty comfortable! I also included a picture of just the girls, and then one of them all chilling out together on the couch. Kash is sleeping, curled in a ball, as usual! |
they are both so adorable and lucky to have you! |
Thank you so much! We are lucky to have them! |
Just adorable. |
They are so sweet and adorable. I'm so glad you gave them a wonderful forever home. |
Thanks!! We think they're pretty cute too :) |
They are adorable and congratulations and bless you for the adoption. They couldn't be with better pet parents. :) |

They are all 3 so sweet bless you for giving these babies a good home :) |
Beautiful furbabies & just adorable! Bless your heart for rescuing them. Their story brought tears to my eyes. Thank you for what you have done. |
Lindsey, They are so adorable. Thank you for giving them a home:) |
Oh my, every one of your babies is beautiful. Looking at the two newest members you'd never know they are rescues. Bless you for giving them both a loving home. |
Congratulations!! They look like a couple of sweethearts. :) They are very lucky to be with your and your fiance. |
They are beautiful .. I agree that Lucy may have shih tuz, she has eyes like my Bailey! Enjoy.. |
Just finding this, Lindsey. They are both adorable. They look very happy, too.:) |
Oh my goodness they are just so cute. They look they all get along so well. |
Thank you guys so much :) We are very lucky to have them. We have had comments like "THREE dogs???" but when people meet them, they fall in love! We just took them to my parents' cabin for the weekend, and I swear Lucy is a different dog than the one we brought home. She hardly spent any time in the kennel, and even slept in a regular doggy bed last night instead of her little dog house bed. I think she's getting more and more comfortable being out and a part of the family. It's so great to see them change like that! |
Congratulations on your two new additons! And bless you for giving them a home with love ♥ They are both sooo adorable! Kash looks full Maltese to me, reminds me of my BitsyRoo (RIP), and Lucy looks like she is Maltese/ShihTzu/Yorkie cross, love her coloring. They are blessed to have wonderful forever home! Congrats! :):):) |
They are SO cute - you're so great to rescue them together! They look so happy now. I wonder if Kash has a little poodle in him? I had a little white poodle growing up and he looks just like her except her tail was docked. Cute. Cute. Cute. |
I think Kash may have some poodle in him. Their foster mom thought he was a bichon because when his hair is long, she said it's curly. But it definitly isn't little curls like a bichon, and it's pretty thin. It's growing out a bit and it just seems to have a bit of a wave in it! His ears and tail have long hair and it's pretty straight. I think he's probably mostly maltese, with a bit of poodle mixed in! Lucy is just a teddy bear! I'm used to Layla's hair which starts to feel almost greasy a few days after bathing, and it knots very easily. Lucy is just all fluff, but I can run my fingers right through it! |
Congrats on your new additions! They are both adorable! As is Miss Layla, of course! :) |

They are adorable! How wonderful you took them both in. |
I think they are gorgeous, and very happy furkids. Bless you for taking them in. Personally, I think Lucy looks exactly like a yoranian (Yorkie/Pomeranian) :) |

I didn't even think about pomeranian being mixed in there, but she definitely has the little tail curled up over her back like a pom! Would a yorkie/pomeranian shed? Lucy doesn't shed much, she has no undercoat like a pom has. |
I'm sure they will change a lot as they get used to their new home and learn that this is their furever home.:) |
they are just adorable.... both of them!!! how terribly sad that someone left them at the vets office in such bad shape. :( sadly, worse could\'ve happened though and they are in a wonderful loving home now so what a happy ending!!! thank you for taking them in and showing them what it\'s like to be loved in a family. you did a really great thing. congratulations on the new additions to your family!!! |
Thank you so much! Lucy is more and more open with us every single day. She is rarely sleeping in her little house at night, and instead sleeps in a bed between Kash and Layla. Last night she jumped into my fiance\'s lap when he was sitting on the floor, and then she was playing hide and seek with him around a corner! When she saw him poke his head around she would spin in a circle with excitement! I bet she is at least 2 or 3 years younger than the vets originally thought. She seems to be so much more energetic now! She will also run to us, lick our noses, and then run away. She is such a sweetie! |
Congratulations! They are just beautiful and so lucky to have you. I have no doubt they will be loved and spoiled. |
