| REhomed my 2 Cocketiels today I had to do make the difficult decision to rehome them, because a few days ago I asked my son to feed the birds , and to our horror they were not only out of food, but water too A total mistake on my part... We just have had not the propper time to care for the birds like we need to, and it is not right to allow them to live like that in our home. They have been breeding, which is fine, however, when they beed, they poop far more and the poo has been getting all ocer the place, including the back wall.. Our Yorkie, Suzi eats the dropped seeds, and gets pecked at by the maled Cocketiel then wimpers all the time.. The cage is very nice and is made out of rod iron, and quite roomy. i'll i wanted was for them to go to a good family. I placed them on Craigs LIst and had many interested people. I asked just $60 for everything. I met the people at Petsmart parking lot today , cleaned the cage up very well, gave them a brand new container of food I had just bought Sat, and everything i had for the birds. The woman told me she is keeping their names , and she was very, very kind. They have a young bird, and her parents have a bird, plus they know a professional bird fanicer , so I know i made the right decision letting this family take my birds home with them. Now that they are gone, I feel a little sad, but realise it was the best thing I could of done for them. Cocketiels are beautiful, fun, and wonderful birds. However, they can get to be very draining and I was not giving enough to them. When I brought Suzi home, It was and is all about her. She is the center of my world, along with my son. My birds became neglected and it was not right to keep them anymore. thanks for letting me just vent .... Cause I really feel bad right now.

| I also think you made the right decision, and it sounds like you found a great home for them. I own 10 birds and they are a lot of work! More than most people realize. I'm sure your birds will be much happier in a home where they are getting the right care and attention. Try not to feel too bad, just know you did the best thing for them. |

| Thank you! This is excatly what I needed to know . I keep looking at where they use to be ... It is odd to me that they are not here anymore. You are both righ, and I know that I made the right choice too. They deserve the best care and are very beautiful birds . The family was so happy and drove quite a distance just to pick them up. And wanted them the same evening. I am very happy that they went to a loving, safe family and are in such good hands. Suzi our Yorkie won't be eating Seeds anymore! And there will be no more Bird Poop on the back wall I beleve this was haoppening because of the breeding... Suzi became the center of attention and focus, and the birds , well, they honestly were a burden .
