| I think he may have gotten in over his head on this one.Wonder why they didn't already have a dog.The requirements for the one they do want doesn't seem like they will find it at a shelter, seems he has locked them into getting one from a shelter.I am all for them getting a yorkie.

Thor's Human Donating Member | Aren't there rescues for Portuguese Water dogs? I can see where the article is coming from, but I think it's appropriate for Obama to get a rescue. If anyone has the means and staff to rehabilitate a dog, it's the President of the United States. And their requirements don't seem THAT crazy - they are looking for a good tempered adult. I'm sure the dog can be house trained if it's not already. Getting a dog from a rescue is not a slight to good breeders.
