Introducing...the ADORABLE new addition to my family!
 

Meet Jack! He's currently 4 weeks old and .52 lbs. He was found along the side of the road with his two sisters last week. My husband and I have been raising them with the help of my mom. We have spent hours bottle feeding, rubbing rear ends and bellies to make them use the bathroom, keeping them warm, holding them while they sleep, watching them play, and hoping they would make it. Honestly, I have never been a cat person, but after bonding like that, my husband and I just couldn't NOT adopt the little runt. He was in pretty bad shape when we found them, but now he's the most energetic, active, and adventurous of the bunch. He got his name because he loves to nibble noses...just like Jack Frost. :)

Yes, but then they turn into cats. What have I gotten myself into?! LOL I'm going to have to find a cat forum cause I'll definitely have questions.

They are soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo cute! We are looking to add a kitten into our house. I wish we were closer cause I would take the black one in a heart beat!

Angie!! How cute is he!? (all of them!) My mom told me that Brendon was trying to talk you into it - we talked about it all through dinner lol! ;) I'm so glad you got him! Congrats on the new addition. Welcome, Jack! :D

I think kittens are adorable. My hubby is a cat person. If he wasn't allergic to them we would prob have 1. We did in the past but they bothered his asthma and allergies just too much.

I just couldn't say no knowing how much the situation was already breaking his heart and how much little Jack has already been through. Brendon has definitely become "Mama kitten". As soon as we get them out of their little crate they immediately start treating him like a jungle gym until they are just too tired and fall asleep either in a little ball on his tummy or in random different places on him. Tonight Tiger slept for a while curled up inside his crossed legs with only her head sticking up. It was ADORABLE! He is in heaven when he's with those kittens. We are so worried about the future of the other two. It will break our hearts when we have to let them go.

Awwww wee baby kees!! I love kittens even when they grow up to be cats. I have always owned them...several at one time.

First rule - get Jack neutered when he's old enough

I have always had both cats and dogs, and cats just seem so human... our cat, his name is "Me-Kitty"... he is a wonderful addition to our family, even if he doesnt really know he is a cat(we have tried to tell him.. haha)
he is super around the puppies and tolerates so much from them without evena fuss.. Good Luck with you precious baby, he is soooo cute!

I love cats, but don't have one. These three sure are cuties. If you have allergies, you could probably tolerate a Devon Rex. They don't have "fur" like other cats and are supposed to be hypoallergenic. I'd love to have one!

Well Welcome to the family Jack. You are a cutie. We don't have cats but with a story like this I think its wonderful you are keeping one. How lucky were those kittens. Good luck and we will get to see more pics as Jack is growing up.

How cute! We have a new baby kitten also. Her name is Princess and shes black with white paws and belly. They sure are cute when they are little

I don't know how to say this. I've been putting off updating this thread all morning. This morning, I went to wake the kitties to feed them and Jack was unresponsive and barely breathing. Poor little guy couldn't even hold his head up. We rushed him to the vet, who did everything she could, but little Jack didn't make it. The vet was crying when she told us. We were just there on Friday and she said they were all doing great. He was fine all day yesterday and ate well and played fine just before bed last night. The vet said it was probably an infection and there was nothing we could have done.

Brendon and I are completely heartbroken. Little Jack some how captured both our hearts more than we ever would have thought possible. We had planned a future with him, bought him toys, a scratching post, litter, and all the kitty necessities. We never thought he'd be gone this soon at such a tender age and so suddenly.

The girls are doing fine right now, but we are still grieving the loss of our active, adventurous, loving little guy. I love the girls, but it just isn't the same. I've never lost a pet before and it's breaking my heart. I can't think of him without crying all over again.

The vet is worried that the girls might have an infection as well so they are on immune building vitamins. Please pray that they are both okay. I can't imagine going through this again.

Angie and Brendon ~ I just saw your post and I'm in tears. I'm so, so sorry for the loss of Jack. It's so sudden and so sad. I'll have your family in my prayers. :love: I'll also be praying that his sisters are OK. Thank you for saving his life so he could enjoy the time he had here.

Angie...I am so heartbroken for both of you. But please know that in Jack's short time that he was with you, he was loved and he felt that. You found them for a reason and maybe that is why, so that he would know love before he passed away. :( Big hugs to you and Brendon both.

I am so sorry you lost Jack. I know your heart must be hurting real bad.
Prayer\'s coming the two little girls will be safe from whatever happened
to their brother.
Your wonderful people to give these three a home when it was needed.
He passed being loved. Remember that.

Thank you all for you kind thoughts. Even though Jack\'s time with us was short, he will remain in our hearts forever. It will be a long time before I\'ll be able to think of him without tears. He had such a tough life, but he was still the sweetest, most cuddly, playful little guy. I would\'ve given anything to have been able to help him. He deserved so much more...

It\'s so hard to lose something so precious...

I thought today would be easier, but the first thing I thought when I woke up is that I wished Jack was still here. :(
