| Does anyone feed their Cat a UTI (urinary tract infection) blend of catfood? (dry). If so, which brand works best for you? I need to switch my cat over to something, since she's gotten a 2nd UTI in maybe six months. |

| If your cat have UTI , you should talk to your vet before using what your friends suggest . Dry cat food is not the best . |

| Wysong has a cat food called Uretic. It is a better brand than most. |

| Vet didn't have time to see me. Just gave the usual anti-biotics and sent me on my way. When I asked about food change, the Assistant said I should give the UTI foods on the market a try. Didn't tell me which ones. Left it up to me I suppose. Yeah I know about moist being best, but I don't want to do that just yet. Dogs will eat it. The cat hates moist foods. | Yeah try and get some moisture in there even if u have to mix it. The UTI is bc the cat isnt getting enough fluids to help flush the bladder. My cat had 2 UTI's when i was feeding dry food till I put them back on their raw diet and now all is well. Neither of my cats will drink water so i have to make sure they are getting moisture from their foods. I also add extra water to their raw food just to be on the safe side. Good luck! My vet recommended i dont use the UTI foods Last edited by Southernlocs; 05-07-2008 at 04:47 AM. |

| Kitties are very prone to UTI's if they don't get enough liquid. canned cat food can help with moisture but they also need a good kibble to balance. The Life's Abundance has wonderful kitty food and the canned is pure meat! It is formulated to replicate a "mouse". Out in the wild, a cat would eat prey and get the moisture from that. If they just eat kibble, they don't get enough liquid. You may want to try one of those fresh water fountains and also only used filtered water. Read the labels on the commercial cat food too. Make sure there is no corn, wheat or by-products. None of those ingredients are in the LA foods!! I have samples of the kibble but not the canned. I have some on order but won't get those until this weekend. If you get a chance, click here for more information. There is a great video to watch that will also give you some great information about commercial pet food. PM me if you would like a sample. ![]() Best of luck with your little kitty. |

| Linda gave you some GREAT advice! I leave dry out and my cats hardly touch it, I feed EVO from innova, the canned is 95% meat. And the kibble has Zero fillers. Its really good food, second best to raw if you ask me, but there are alot of good diets out there. The key for you is Feeding WET! If your cats load up on the dry, pull it! Feed the wet and offer smaller bits of dry. My cats hardly touch their water as well because they get their water requirements from their wet foods, amd let me tell you, they poop firm little logs! No squishy piles here! The myth that wet food causes runs only holds true if your feeding crap and cheap treats! You will spend a bit more for the food now, but save a small fortune in vet and medication bills later!
