| 1 day old Golden Retriever puppy having seizures Just thought I'd ask here and hope for a quick answer. A girl on another forum I go to had a litter of Golden Retrievers yesterday. I think there were 9 total. One boy died in the night, have no idea why. Now another boy is having seizures. What could be wrong? Her dh thinks they should have him put down. I'm just not familiar enough with the breed to give any advice.

| I know this isn't your dog- but why not ask a VET? Sounds like it is a little more serious than to ask and rely on online advice. Doh.

| Well that's obviously what I told her. I don't know if she'll do it though.

| I have no advice, just wanted to say I hope they figure it out and the rest of the pups will be alright. I love Goldens, they are the best dogs, they are so sweet and gentle.

| Some Goldens as well as Labs are prone to seizures. Its genetic. I didnt know they could have them at one day old though. I would go to the vet ASAP!! |

| Yeah... extremely sad. They obviously shouldn't be breeding. She ended up having 12 puppies. One born 24 hrs. after the last. 3 have died now and still no vet visit. I'm done. I gave my opinion and she wouldn't take it.

| That is very sad, but it is kind of you to try to help her with answers. It's to bad she didn't take them to the vet. Some people just don't know much about responsiblity.
