please pray for sammy :[
 

about two weeks ago, sammy, the family german shepard mix, had an ear infection. he got medicine to cure it. About 3 days later, his glands were swollen. When we took him to the vet, they said that it the infection is spreading down to his throat, so he got medicine for that. Soon thereafter his ear infection was gone, but his glands were getting harder and bigger. Just yesterday, we took him back to the vet. They took him into the back and it was quite a long visit for him, but i didnt think too much of it (im only thirteen, i didnt think too far into it :p ) . but after about a half hour, we were still in the waiting area at Banfield's, the doctor came out and asked to speak with my mommy. so i went and wandered around petsmart for like 10 minutes with Caden. we got back to the car with sammy and my mom just wasnt herself, but she assured me that everything was okay. he was going to be on an antibiotic, my mommy told me. then this morning, my mom bought it up to me in a comforting manner. she said 'Kelli, the doctors are saying that there is a 90% chance that it is cancer.' i was devastated !

so can you please please say an extra prayer for him and my family ?

yesterday, mommy and daddy took sammy to the vet for a check-up on his situation, and to discuss the results of the tests. They are still not sure that it is cancer, but they are more certain that it is :( . They said that he would need to come in for a biopsy (mommy never told me what that is, and im pretty sure it would only make me sadder if i knew :confused: ) . so this morning, daddy dropped him off at the vet, and i went off to school sssoooooo worried !! i didnt know how serious a bioppsy is ... (and i still dont)

soo ... now my SammyWammy is in the vet for a full day away from me and Caden =[

i miss him soo much ! and he comes back tonight ='[

please keep praying ! it would be greatly appreciated ...

Oh hon...will do. I am so sorry. Hopefully it will clear up and it was a wrong or faulty diagnosis. Is there any chance of that?

I'm sorry sweetie. I'll pray for Sammy and for you and your family. My Newman (my Yorkie) had cancer. Just let him know each day how much you love him. Give him extra attention and treats and just love him.

I am so sorry about Sammy and your family's situation. I hope he gets better.

A biopsy is just a test that vets do to find out whether its cancer or not. Its not too painful or serious, its a good thing, because it lets the doctors know what they are dealing with, and how to make him better.

Sammy got home about 2 days ago ! but he had a scar and staples on his hind leg :[ he has cancer :( its limfoma cancer, i think my mommy said.

but they're not sure how serious it is, yet .
Sammy hasn't been quite hisself lately ... i hope he gets all back to normal again .

please pray that it is not serious and can be treated !

Oh my gosh, sweetie. I'm so sorry to hear about Sammy. :( I will say a prayer for Sammy that his cancer is very cureable and a prayer for you and your family. :hands: :hands: I hope Sammy gets better soon.

okay everyone, here's whats going on ...
yesterday mommy and daddy came back from the vet with sammy. They sat me down and told me the truth ... sammy definitely has lymfoma cancer :( . they cought it in the early stages, and he got a kimo shot, and is on like 3 medications daily. he's going to be on all the mediactions for approx. 2 years, until the cancer goes into recession or something like that .

but, when it goes into recession, daddy said that there is barely any chance of it staying there (idk what recession is. help me out?) . if it doesnt stay there, keeping him on medications wouldnt be good for his body . so ... after about an hour of my parents sugar-coating Sammy's situation, they gave it to me straight ;; sammy has only about 2 years to live ='[

hes only 3 years old ='[

PLEASE PLEASE pray for him to live a long, healthy life !

this even had my 19 and 20 year old brothers bawling through the night .. me too . we all had to camp out downstairs with sammy because we didnt wanna leave his side ='[
