Thanks for sharing your pics! Your Sunshine looks just like my Scooter. He passed away 2 weeks ago and we are sooo missing him. He loved to whitsle and hang out with me, I have other birds, but miss my Scooter. Hope you enjoy your birds for a long time, Scooter did have a nice long life!

I'm so sorry about Scooter. He is in Bird heaven right now

How old was he? I also hope my birds last a long time.

I have a Loud mouth bird brain that I am just in love with! His name is Feathers. Addison loves him too! They say good morning and goodnight every day!

So sorry to hear about Scooter. All the pics are so cute. My male, Cosmo, looks just like the pics(grey with a yellow face) and says about 65 words, phrases and sings his own little diddies. We taught him a few songs, but he got them all mixed up, so he makes up his own. JuJu, my female, is a pied and just chirps away. Cosmo is a butthead and a ham. He is our entertainment most nights.

We have one too. This is Sydney! He is sweet most of the time.

Awww he is so cute! Those are great pics! He looks a lot like one of mine, some are darker, some are lighter.

BTW does Addison ever try to nip at him? Just wondering cause Sophie will prob. kill mine if i let her! She barks like crazy, starts jumping and trying to get them. Teddy and London on the other hand don't do anything. Teddy is scared of them and London doesn't care, she is just a little curious and sniffs them and they kiss her back. It's cute. But Sophie, that girl is a true hunter dog. When i had my fav. Cockatiel of all time Timothy that i will never in my life forget, my neighbor had a chihuahua that would let him get on her back, and she would walk around with him on her back. They were friends. I wish mine were like that with each other but i guess i didn't train them to be cause i had the cockatiels way longer than the pups and i guess it was too late. I still try tho

You told me about Cosmo before and he sounds like such a smart guy! That's a lot of words! He sounds like a cutie

Ha ha. Just be prepared. They can be LOUD, and they live into their 80s. Rosebud will likely outlive us.

But they do grow on you. We've had her for 12 years now. She's family.

I know i heard they can be very loud. Does she have somewhere to go if she does outlive you? She is so pretty! I want to have one when i have a big house and i want him/her to have their own little area that is tropical. Maybe if i live somewhere hot it can be outside but they will be inside with me most of the time, just outside to get nice air, etc.

Unfortunately, right now she doesn't. I keep hoping a nephew or niece will show an interest in her, but it takes so long to get to know her that no one has. Our best prospect right now is a woman in her 20s who works at the place we board her. She said she'd take her in a second, but who knows where she'll be in 30+ years.

There are sanctuaries for older birds. I should probably look into that.

Our summers are way too short, but we let her out a lot in the summer. She'll sit in a tree in our front yard for hours.

Nope. If she ever starts feeling frisky, we clip her wings. But the only time she flew was when she was startled, and she didn't fly far.
