I would love a maltese one day, along with a few more yorkies. I already have a breeder picked out that I really like (well from what I've seen on their website anyway). Hopefully they'll still be around in a few years when I'm actually able to get one |
2 Attachment(s) Our maltese Bentley is the sweetest thing. He loves to be held in my lap and he follows me around like my shadow. He is very laid back and is a little scared of things like noises and strangers. He gets along with Hannah good. He does bark a lot if someone knocks on the door or even if the wind blows (no kidding). His coat is 10 times thicker than Hannah and it is harder to groom. He will lay in my lap as long as i let him, Hannah is always on the go and never has time to lay in my lap. Here is some pictures of Bentley. Good Luck! |
2 Attachment(s) Well I think they are just a bit more layed back then the Yorkie and just a tad more up keep grooming wise. They have the same medical problems as the Yorkies. I think my Yorkie & my female Maltese were twins in another life though...they have the same attitude. Attachment 162352Attachment 162353 |

Sorry dup. |
I have 2 Yorkies and am getting a Maltese on Monday. One of the members here suggested I check www.spoiledmaltese.com. I did and it is a great forum. I"ve already learned more there than I did reading 3 Maltese books. Good luck. |
Wow thanks for the pics and info everyone |
I am in love with Bentlley, he is beautiful! He is so white, is that hard to keep him that white around the face? I also love the way his hair is cut, very cute.f Quote:

I have a Maltese as well. At this moment she is on my lap.:) She is extremely playful and joyful - that's the best word I can find to describe her. Just pure joy. She is so happy all the time and the way she comes running to me after she goes potty is SO adorable. I just recently started letting her sleep on my bed and she thinks it is the coolest thing ever. She gets so excited. She jumps all over and keeps kissing me and looking me in the eye like she is saying, "Thank you mommy!" I keep her hair shorter and I love it that way. She needs a groom right now though. She loves everyone - whether they come to the house or we go visiting. She is just a love bug and like I said, a pure joy. She loves to cuddle when the all the dogs settle down and she is a true escape artist. I sometimes call her Houdini Jr. She just wants to be with me and not behind any gate! Grooming isn't bad if they are kept rather short. We don't get matts if we keep up with it. I don't think she has ever had a matt, now that I think of it. I don't think I can think of anything negative about her.... :D |
My mom's friend had a Maltese. She was sooo soo sweet and smart! She loved jumping on the couch when guests were over(us) and having us rub her belly and pet her. She was old so she passed away:( But she was so cute |
Just came across this thread.. I had a Maltese many years ago. She was the sweetest little thing. So placid and loving. I kept her long for a while but eventually had her hair cut. She was pretty healthy and lived to 17 yrs. She was a real daddys girl and when Hubby went away on business trips she missed him terribly.. my neighbours always knew when he returned, \'cause they could hear her SCREAMING for joy. We still miss her although she has been gone for about 12 years now. |
