HaHaHa! We like to tease. It's one of our favorite things to do.

You poor little thread. I wish I had more time to spend with you.

Tink needs a haircut. I need to make an appointment for her. Maybe if I call first thing in the morning I can get her in this weekend. That would be great!:D

Right now she is bringing her kibble into the dining room one piece at a time. Silly furchild! Now, if only she would eat it without making a crumby mess!:rolleyes:

Tink is sick. She's had diarrhea for two weeks now. The vet put her on chicken and rice only and gave her some tablets with activated charcoal, pepto and something else in it. It's not working. :( She has some horrible allergies and the vet says that's what's causing the problem.

My carpet is in bad shape and Tink is making a mess of her crate. She can't help it and when I get home she's standing in a cornet leaning on the crate trying to stay out of the poo. It's horrible. I feel like a rotten mommy. :cry8: And if i didn't crate her, it would be all over the house. My shampooer is getting a workout.

Please say a prayer for her if you see this.:hands:

I'm sorry Tink is having a bad time in Texas...I will say a prayer for her to feel better quickly!

Can you get an x-pen or puppy playpen to keep her in? That would give her a little more room than a crate does and you could put a potty pad inside for her.

I'm sorry Tink is not feeling well. How long have you been giving her the med that the vet gave you?
Chicken and rice usually does it for Jerome.

She has a larger crate but she seems to like the smaller one better. I think i'll get a gate for the kitchen and put her crate in there with the door open. The kitchen has tile floors which will be easy to clean. IF I can find a crate wide enough for the door. :confused:

She's been on the meds for a week and a half. I'm gonna call her in the morning and see what she says.

Oops - I meant if I can find a gate wide enough to fit the door - not a crate. :)

Please try putting Tink on different water. Bottle drinking or distilled unless you already give that to her. My little yorkie use to get sick when we went to Texas and the vet said to change her water and not to let her drink water from the faucet and it worked. I hope she gets better. I know she will when you figure out what is making her sick-Cathy

When we travel I always get bottled water for my crew just to be sure they don't pick up anything.

Also, what is she eating? When I still had Boomer (one of the puppies) I was feeding my crew an all life's stages food but it was high in protein and he had 'the runs' everytime he pooped. I talked to the vet and he recommended switching to a lower protein food so I did and he had normal poop from then on.

She is on Wellness and I also cook chicken and veggies for her - no seasoning.

I don't think it's the water cause she's been fine since we moved here. It's just the last week that she got sick. Even so, I picked up some purified water to be sure.

I started a thread for her in the sick babies forum. I've gotten lots of helpful info. Some I knew and had forgotten!

Tink is doing better. Still has some runny poos, but no explosions in the crate the last two days. Just the information you wanted to know about - right?!

I'm looking for the right kind of gate for my kitchen doorway. If I can find one that I can afford, I'm gonna stop crating her and let her have the kitchen for her house.

I'm going to be working from home, so she won't need to be crated all day anymore but there will be times that she'll need to be confined. So a gate sounds like a good idea. Any comments out there?:D

Thanks Vicky. She seems better each day. I'm back to cooking plain chicken and rice for her with a little pumpkin for dessert.

I have to talk with the vet and see if this is just a wait it out situation or if there is something permanent I can do for her. Poor little thing.

oh that is so mean.... it makes me so hungry.. i haven't had pecan pie for AGES!!!

does tink get any probiotics? that helps my dogs a lot. i buy mine at my wonderful vet's but they sell it all over the place. if you use it, just be sure it's the kind that has to be refrigerated after opening.

also, when they have tummy/intestinal troubles i give them slippery elm bark powder on their food. it really helps. it's natural and and there are no side effects that i know of. i got some at the local health section in the grocery. well, they ordered it for me. it was recommended to me by many dog people and the vet says it's good, too.:)

Awwww, poor Tink! I haven't been around in ages and the first thing I did today when I logged on was look for news of Susie and Tink.

Poor girl. Poor mom.

Bernie sends hugs. He wants to make sure there isn't any kitty food there. He sure gets sick when he gets into the kitty food.:rolleyes: He'll tell you all about it when you are feeling better.

Tink had her first normal poo in two weeks today! Yay - finally.:D I gave her a little kibble with her chicken and rice today. She's feeling much better. :)

Slowly and laboriously my carpet is looking better too. I was afraid it was ruined but I think it might be saved eventually.:)

Today Tink made friends with a great big bull dog. It's huge but so sweet. :) I can't remember it's name but it's a girl and she just loves Tink - thank goodness. She doesn't realize that she can't jump on Tink - and it doesn't seem fair cause Tink jumps on her!:p We'll get it figured out sometime soon.;)

Yesterday my daughter received her Masters of Music with High Honors from UT Austin. I am so proud of her. :luvu:

Well, congratulations to you and your daughter Susie. I would be proud too.

Thank you. She is a good daughter and I am proud of everything she's accomplished.

What is she going to do now that she has her Masters in Music?

She is going to teach. I think she's interested in middle school aged children. We'll have to see what comes along.

Good for her. Teaching can be and should be a noble profession.

What an accomplishment for your daughter Susie...congratulations! You have every right to be proud of her :) My neice teaches music but I'm not sure what grades she teaches. Don't you love it when your kids do well?!

Hello thread

Well, as the Thread Mom...let me see if I can help you.

The night I made the original post I was feeling a bit neglected on YT...it seemed that everytime I started a new thread or even posted to a thread it would simply die and no one wanted to talk to me. So, I apologized to everyone for killing their threads and went to spend some quality time with my dogs instead of YT. When I got online the next day there were several posts to my 'Thread Killer' thread and it seemed like everyone wanted to be the ultimate YT Thread Killer...and so it began.....

Since then our little big thread has gone through good times, bad times, emotional times, happy and sad times with it's members...some have become good friends and we've talked about a lot of different things...we've shared pecan pie and coffee...held each other up through hard times and enjoyed every minute of it. :2photo:

What the heck...was that lightening? I thought I saw a flash of light...oh well...

So, pull up that keyboard and join in YT's 'littlest, big thread'...the Thread Killer thread...because there's always room for just one more post!
