Rr, does your lilac bush get full sun? Also do you prune it? It blooms on new growth, if you prune it....do it now...not later. If you prune in the summer or fall...it will not bloom the following year. And don\'t over fertilize it....that makes it just grow leaves...

I pruned a rose bush once, it died!!!!:confused: :confused: :confused:

PS still looking for that smiley they call a sun. Strangest looking sun I ever saw. It must be missing from my list.

It is in not full sun, but indirect sun,, have never pruned it... hmmm, must try that.

Have lilacs bloomed? I don\'t think I\'ve seen any here in bloom. Are there buds on it? Btw, lilac\'s don\'t like shade.....

Has never bloomed,, this is year 3.. no buds, but grows and has tons of leaves.. it isn\'t in the shade,, full sun half the day..

I meant have the lilacs bloomed in your area. If they have bloomed then it would be ok to prune yours. If they haven\'t then there is still the possibility yours will bloom...clear as mud? When you plant or transplant flowering bushes and trees...the first couple of years or so...it is busy growing roots and will not bloom.
