Oops 284 days |
Yeah, but February is usually LOOOOONG. Too long for the shortest month of the year. |
What kind of bike do you ride? |
I don't have one, but have a friend that I ride with that likes to ride in Texas Hill Country the most. Has a collection. so I ride on the back of whatever brought that needs to be taken out. I can't have one or husband would have to have one. He can't drive a car too well; so we don't much want him on a bike and I sure as heck wouldn't get on behind him. :P So I ride with the friend. You should go down there sometime. Great rides and there is a Motorcycle Museum to visit on one of the better rides. Good eats. Good times. |
I can't figure out how to downsize a picture of my bike. This is same as mine except, I have a wind shield slotted chrome wheels and saddle bags https://www.google.com/search?q=2002...yS916kSVTqj2M: |
Purdy! |
I have a nice ride down to the lake on the bike to go sailing on the weekends. Still too early to take the boat out yet. My buddy has the motor winterized yet. How close are you to Ray Hubbard lake? Do you all get on it at all? |
I grew up right by it and mother still does live by it. Dad used to come home and take me skiing on it several times a week except for winter. I have to cross it when I go visit her. It's a fairly ugly mud lake and have not been out on it in years. There is a large sailing contingent there. I honestly do not know why they choose that particular lake. |
My wife and her ex lived on it. The lake I sail on is a the same size |
Bet your lake isn't ugly though. That lake is incredibly ugly. Probably one of the ugliest lakes in TX. |
I'd say it is. They dammed up a river to create our lake. It's definitely a dirty Lake https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carlyle_Lake# |
I bet it's cleaner that Hubbard. I see sand and trees; so a big improvement. Dallas and some surrounding Counties are known for it's rich, fertile blackland. It grew great cotton and still lots of farming. The area they flooded for Hubbard was mostly farmland. No trees. And blackland makes a muddy muck when wet, unlike sand that settles better. My two favorite lakes up this way are Possum Kingdom and Cooper. PK is gorgeous, but lots of rocks. Water is very clear. Cooper has pines and other assorted trees. There are other nice lakes, but I tend to avoid those on blackland if I can. |
https://www.tripadvisor.com/Attracti...&detail=209597 Hell's Gate at PK. People dive off the rocks. Skin-dive below. Look at the boat to get a perspective of the size. Water so clear that you can see the bottom in shallower places. |
Darnit. Click the center pic. Sorry about that. |
That does look nice Not sure when I'm going back down there. I was planning a trip this year some time again. A visit to Addison |
