Has anybody ever sent e-mails to newspaper ads for free doggies? I've been playing with one who has two Yorkies for FREE. You pay $650 for shipping from NJ for both or $400 for one. When I asked if I could pick them up, they said that they had to be shipped. So, I sent a "shame on you" note that they would be better to fly with me than alone. Then, they actually sent me a street address to come get them. They've sent pictures, too. I'd love to really check this out, but I know it has to be a scam. Their reason to give them up is that they can only have two pets in their apartment. Of course, I've asked for their peds and such and haven't gotten answers to those questions.

Houston Chronicle is supposedly trying to crackdown on the scammer ads. On average, there'll be 30 something ads for Yorkies, with more than half being scammers and it's so easy to pick them out.

I played with one that was in my paper. I asked for vet records, if he could e-mail them to me or let me call his vet, i never got a reply back!!! Wonder Why???

This was so real that they even gave me their home address. Boy, if I lived close, I'd be driving over to check it out!

can you tell the newspaper about it? and why advertise in TX when you love in NJ????

LOL - I had no idea I was not the only one who did this - These people are really terrible - I have reported several of them...

Honestly, why waste your time?

I'd be afraid they would send me a virus or something worse. I think I remember a YT contacted a scammer about a yorkie (not knowing they were a scammer) and he actually CALLED her (and she hadn't given the scammer her number)!

I've talked to the newspaper several times and they want proof. I live in Texas - the scammer is in NJ.
