Thanks you guys!! keep up your thoughts & prayers.. its crazy here!! i too am praying this will be all be over soon-my heart goes out to all the people who are directly affected by the fire!! it really is so crazy-and the winds are blowing very very hard!! There are fires in every direction(every part of southern california) Tim(my bf's) work is RIGHT next to the irvine fires(he is there). It took him almost 2 hours to get to work this morning(which normally takes about 30 min., with no traffic) Alot of the streets are closed(including the (oc)toll road, and some freeways) I feel so sorry for the people who's houses, etc. have been lost. Last i heard there were 4 people injured and one fatality.. so lets just pray that it remains that way!! This is Avie's first BIG wind encounter.. it kinda freaks her out(poor baby):( im continuing with the prayers and hopefully this will all end soon!!  PS.(u guys should see/smell outside) You can even smell the fires inside our home(and we have kept everything closed up since it began!!) Tim said the visibility, etc. was horrible out by him(i can imagine) :thumbdown (But on a lighter note.. i almost got a carwash about 2 days ago, ha. that would've lasted long, right?;) ) XO.:big_hug: :xfingers: :hands: |

My prayers are with all those affected by the fire. I wish I could bag up our rain and send it to you. I'd do it in a heartbeat. |
It is so crazy! My sister lives in the San Diego area, and she is pregant, overdue by a week, just came down with the flu, in the hospital, and her home is being evacuated due to the fires!!!! |
Praying for everyone who is fighting these fires and for the people who are affected. :xfingers::xfingers::xfingers: |

Hi Meg and Tim, as a suggestion, keep your a/c going and also if you have weep holes in your windows plug them up and cover all your vents and any exhaust vents (with aluminum foil) that the outside air could come through till this is all over. (Besure to uncover the weep holes in the windows when this is over.) It is all toooooo close, hopefully we will be getting word soon that things are improved. The wind almost knocked me over earlier and it is still just as strong. Anyone that is able to get sandwiches and nourishment to the fire men near you, please do so if you can, we hear many are working non stop and on 24 hour shifts and then some. When we had the fire here near us couple years ago, we made sandwiches and took fruits and bottled water and left it for them to get when they could. They really appreciated it. Patti and Jack |
wow great post thanks for reminding everyone:) they are in our prayers for sure! |
aww. That's a wonderful post. Prayers for so cal. |
Thank you so much everyone! It is terrible here. I have never seen anything like it and I have lived here all my life. We even kept my first grader home from school today because he has asthma and if he goes outside it could be really bad for him. We are all praying that the winds die down soon and the firefighters can get a hold of all the fires. They are doing such an awesome job for us!!:thumbs up |
I hope no one here was affected by the fire and i really hope everyone is okay. Praying for them! It's a very scary thing! |
Praying for everyone close to the fires, or who have loved ones that are near there. "God please keep them safe" |
I Am Praying For All Of You I went to bed thinking of all the members here that could be close to these terrible fires. Mustangbee, I think is close to San Diego and she was supposed to be having a Birthday Party on Sunday and she was not on YT yesterday. I am really worried about her and so many others that we have not heard from yet. I hope they see this thread is they are not in danger and check in to let us know. If they are the computer would be your last though so just know we are praying that wind isn't as strong today and mother nature will help out in the fight against the worst fire they have ever had there. God Bless You All. |
Prayers coming your way!! |
I am praying really hard. My heart goes out to all the fire fighters and homeowners. Please be safe. |
Here is a great video that gives you a bit of an idea. The first starts out early Sunday morning mentioning 35 homes and of course there are well over 700 now and I'm not sure just what area that is or overall. There are about 6 or 7 clips so if you see an advertisement don't think it's over, in fact the cnn clip looks like a car ad at first glance. It looks like the winds are going to keep up for a few more day and that will not help. http://www.cnn.com/2007/US/10/23/wil...ar#cnnSTCVideo How horrible for these people. |
My thoughts and Prayers are with everyone involved ! Please stay safe ! |
My thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected by this. I know some people who live in Brea. They're in Italy right now, so hopefully they'll be able to avoid the fires. |
Prayers are coming to all our California members. |

Hopefully it all ends soon.. such a mess-those poor people who have lost their homes/loved ones!! still PRAYING!! Tim came home from work yesterday(i had mentioned he works right by the irvine(santiago fires).. and his clothes SMELLED like SMOKE so so bad!! he was in his office or car the whole time.. and was only outside to get from his car into work, etc. There was even ashes on his pants when he got home, i picked them up to wash them.. and they would shake off!! yuck. He did say today though.. that the smell and ashes weren't quite as bad as yesterday..(due to the wind factor..and also because it has once again switched directions and began to head back towards the orange area!) XO.:hands: :xfingers:  |
We here in California are so grateful to the other states that are sending in man power and everything they are doing to help with getting these fires knocked down. They really have a difficult job with all these high winds. I just heard on the local news that in Ventura the firefighters are now having to deal with over 100 mph winds. I am so thankful that through the years I have been able to get out and weed wack, prune and keep the surroundings around us free from unwanted vegetation. It is a lot of work raking and keeping up but in the long run living in high fire area it is worth every bit of effort and time spent in doing the tasks that are much needed, it helps tremendously to do this. We pray that this will all be under control soon, just heard on the news also that they expect 3/4 million people in San Diego that are evacuated from homes. California needs everyones prayers. PLEASE KEEP THE MUCH NEEDED PRAYERS GOING FOR ALL THOSE AFFECTED WITH THESE FIRE STORMS. Patti and Jack |
We are praying and hope the winds change or lessen soon. sandiego.gov also I don't know if it's wind or winds in this next one I'll say winds first since I have not tried it yet windsoftheworld.net |
It's singular windoftheworld.net once you are on it go to micro the other is correct Sandiego.gov it takes awhile to get through. |
I feel so bad for everyone who is in the area of the fires. :( Saying a prayer that the homeowners and furbabies and firefighters will be safe during this terrible time. :hands: |
