Hopefully it was all just a mix up. Maybe she does rescue work and just gave you the wrong tags...???

Now that you have the paperwork, ask her what is going on. If she acts shady, then call back and speak to the owner of the clinic. It's important that he knows what his employees are doing because his license could be on the line.

I just talked to the lady who works at my vet and explained the situation to her. She said that the rabies tags come on a roll of 100 tags that you rip off as you use them so you have to use them in order . The three tags I ended up w/ are not even close in order. The paperwork shows that they went to the vet on the same day but the three tag numbers I have are 70676, 70322, 70222. Those would be three separate rolls of tags. The two that supposedly belong to the two schnauzers are 100 tags apart but would be from two separate rolls. The lady from my vet that I spoke to said if they came in on the same day the numbers should be consecutive. My lady is going to make a couple of phone calls, she knows someone who might work at the same vet's office as this lady. She said that she would assume that they do not have any vaccinations and that this lady is running a scam. I really just want to give them back and get my money back from the lady. I left her a message but she hasn't called back yet...no surprise. My husband said we should call her and tell her that we know something is fishy w/ the vaccines/rabies tags and that if she gives us our money back and takes the dogs back that we won't call the vet to ask about it which would expose her scam. Since she sent the fax from the vet & her email is k9nurse I'm guessing that she works there and doesn't want to lose her job over this. Grrr...I'm so frustrated. Oh, and the small one puked twice this morning. The second time it was almost black which I haven't been able to get out of my carpet yet. They're now both in their crate because I don't want any more of a chance that Sugar might get sick from them. I sure wish I had a rewind button because I would undo this whole experience. I think after this is over we're going to stay a one dog family for a long while. I can't handle going through this heartache/headache again. I'm going to call the lady from my vet back in a little while and see if she could find out anything.

Oh, I feel so bad for you!!! You were trying to do the right thing by keeping the dogs together and now it is looking more & more like a scam. That is very strange about the order number of the rabies tags.....I cannot imagine what her explanation would be? Either she works at the vets office or she has a connection there....either way it sounds like the tags were stolen.
