Crohns and Irritable Bowel Disease have similar symptoms. Try www.ccfa.org for info |
So I did some further research and I dont think I have it....the medication im on right now is terrible though....I feel worse now then before I started it! I think I will still be tested for it just for my piece of mind. Thank you all for the information and comforting words....it is GREATLY appreciated. To you all! |
My dd went to school with a girl whose Mom had Crohn's. She couldn't eat anything with fiber in it. You might want to check out the benefits of probiotics. I used to suffer with IBS but find that if I get my digestive enzymes and active cultures (yogurt) every day, I have no symptoms at ALL! |
There is a new vitamin out now too that is probiotic too. I can't remember the name. I have heard that IBS causing a lot of the same symptoms. Also that antiboitics will get rid of the bacteria overgrowth (which also is said to cause a swollen/bloated tummy). Hugs to you and hope you feel better soon! :justahug: OH, I had numerous people (doctors, etc) tell me that you can't always trust everything you read online (even on some of the best sites)...so please, don't worry yourself sick! :justahug: |
My SIL has Chrones. She has had it for 10 years or so. At times it can get somewhat hairy for her! |

I have had Crohn's Disease for 29 years and just had my 4th surgery last December. What kind of problems are you having, and what medications did the dr. prescribe? Feel free to PM me anytime! |
I hope your feeling better real soon. |
My sister has it, she was hopitalized last yr and they did a scope of her bowls and stomach and thats what found it, she has terrible stomach and side pain at times, Im not sure what kind of meds she takes but i will find out for you, I hope you are feeling better soon:hug: to you;) |
Crohns Disease My son was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease when he was ten, almost eleven years old... The doctors didn't really know what was wrong at first, the symptoms started out with headaches, stomach pain, being lethargic.. His symptoms escalated before his formal diagnosis as he lost over 20lbs. quickly (he found it difficult to eat without painful cramps)this is when the doctors finally put him under anesthesia and did a colonoscopy. They also scoped him from the top down... that's when they saw the lesions in his upper intestinal tract. The doctors immediately wanted to put him on steroids which I refused (you can blow up like a sausage!) Luckily, he is able to maintain on a variety of non-steroidal drugs at least for now - without any surgeries. Sending prayers your way...it's never fun to have any symptoms like these:( Debbie |
Im really praying and keeping my fingers crossed that it is JUST the bacteria and nothing else. I just wanted to thank you all for the information and kind words. :ghug: |
I have had Crohn's disease for as long as I can remember and Im 37, when I was 22 they finally found out what it was. I do not take meds. All I do is watch what I eat and eat as healthy as a can. I spent some time watching what made it worse and went from there. Since I learned what to stay away from I do just fine. I do have some times where I get pain in my side but it does pass in a day or two. I hope this helps. Angel & Muffy |
My mother in law has lived with Crohn's Disease for many years. She has had some colon, stomach, and large intestine removed. I know the disease very well. |

be careful when you do research like this ... some people are prescribed Prednisone for asthma and inflammation -- but if you check that med, it is also prescribed for cancers of all sorts, do not jump to conclusions. Be direct and ASK your doctor what he is treating you for. that is why you go to a doctor. I hope you feel better! |
