You are in my prayers as well! I had mine done 18 years ago and they only took my uterus. I am sure the surgery has made leaps and bounds since then and your recovery will be very smooth. The hardest for me was the incision as I had never had one. They did a bikini cut and I walked bent over for almost two weeks...but I am so glad glad I did it. Don't be afraid...just focus on getting better and don't be afraid to ask for and take pain meds...they offer them for a good reason! |
Hugs! I'm sure everything will be fine, but I will keep you in my prayers. Please keep us updated. |
Oh you poor thing!! One of the worst parts of any medical procedure is the fear and anticipation beforehand. I just went through this with my best friend. Her uterus had fused to her bladder and she was sure the surgery would be horrendous. Well, guess what, she was totally blown away by how quickly she recovered and how little pain she had. I practically had to tie her down so that she would not overdo things, because she was feeling so good. Hugs to you and prayers coming your way, that your experience has a healing outcome. prayers and good thoughts for you during the surgery and for a fast recovery ... |
Thinking of you, and sending healing thoughts in the days ahead. You will feel so much better and the best part...no more monthly girl stuff. Yahoo! |
Oh Sweetheart...you will be so glad after so long suffering, that you did this...I had mine 7 years ago at age 36...It was quite painful for the first week..I had extensive repair work done, but after that, every week was like...wahooooo...this is great!!! No more monthly pain, no more periods, no more more hormonal ups and downs..nor more planning your life around "that time of the month"!!!! You'll feel free...do use your good pain meds..for two reasons..theres no need to suffer and it will make you rest and sleep which is what you'll need, otherwise you know us Women, we'll get up and do more than we are supposed to:rolleyes: Good luck, they'll take good care of you..try and arrange for help at home with cleaning/laundry if you can for the first month... |
I had the same thing, and I felt so much better after the surgery that it was amazing! It IS serious surgery, but it's going to be fine. They will do all kinds of pre-op testing to make sure that you are healthy enough for surgery and anesthesia;) The recovery wasn't too fun for me, but they had to cut me from my belly button down to my old c-section scar, as the surgeon didn't know what they were looking for. MRI's and ultrasounds were inconclusive on me. Will you have some help for a couple of weeks afterward? You won't be able to do any laundry, cleaning, or cooking. Freeze up some easy to heat meals until your surgery day, it'll help to cut down on takeout meals, clean-up, and it'll keep you busy until then;) BIG hugs to you:love: |
I'll be keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. I went through my hysterectomy last year and am so glad that I did. The healing process takes a while but now, almost a year later, I feel like a new woman. I was like you...very nervous about the whole surgery...but don't regret one minute of it. |
