you poor thing! That's a lot to deal with. I had my gall bladder out several years ago. Due to complications, I was not able to have it done laproscaply (sp?) like they usually do nowadays. I was back to work in two weeks - not that I recommend that (what was wrong with me??!!) Anyways, hopefully yours will be simple and as easy as possible with a quick recovery. As far as your IV's go. My veins are sometimes difficult too. Have you tried drinking a lot? I was told that when you're dehydrated it makes it harder to find your veins and when you have surgery, you can't drink usually after midnight so I make sure I drink a lot of water just before bed and it's been worked for me. Maybe you could try that? Good Luck! ;) Theresa |
I am very happy right now....the Dr.'s office just called me and informed me that it is a DOCTOR'S APPOINTMENT and not sugery on Monday!! I have believed it was surgery (as did my family) since I was in the hospital in August. Surgery will get SCHEDULED Monday. I felt like a happy goofball having to call my family and tell them. Thanks for the well-wishes, prayers and shared stories. I'll post when my ACTUAL surgery is:rolleyes: . |
Julz, I'm glad your surgery is not today. I'll be praying everything goes much better this time. You sure have had a rough summer!! All started with jumping on a trampoline, right??? Stay strong! Lori |
Best Wishes to you Julz! I had my gall bladder out in May and it was a pretty simple procedure. The day of was the worst where the dis comfort was concerned and each day I felt a little better. I wasn't down too long at all so I hope this will be not only your last surgery for a while but also the simpliest where recovery is concerned. |

I'm glad to hear yours went so well. Do you feel completely back to normal now? I hear that it really can be a pretty easy procedure.....but my body is sooooo oppositional. Strong pain meds don't affect me most of the time, and a simple medication they gave me for upset stomach made me higher than a kite and have hallucinations! OMG, it went on for HOURS!!! They had to take me off of morphine for 24 hours due to it and said NONE of them had ever seen such a reaction from it...I had slurred speach, couldn't walk, and saw the pictures and outlets just dripping down the wall. I also talked A LOT to people that weren't really there...though I saw them plain as day. LOL. I just have to laugh about it:rolleyes: . I now go in on the 23rd for the surgery. I do hope mine goes as well as yours:) |
