here in wichita falls, tx you cant smoke in most places. |
Florida is a clean air state, so you can't smoke in any inside establishments, but you can smoke outside in designated areas. I unfortunately smoke, but voted no for smoking inside buildings. I thought it was rude to those that don't smoke. |
Well, CA is getting pretty strict, which I think is GREAT! They have proof now that 3rd hand smoke (stuff in fabric or on ppls skin) can lead to cancer. I hate walking outside of a nice restaurant and walking into a cloud of smoke with my kids. Now, out here in Japan, it is another story. I hate going out, because it seems that EVERYONE smokes here! I dunno, I have never been a smoker and I feel really cholosterphobic around the smoke. |
Some place in california you can't smoke anywhere in public, not even walking down the sidewalk. I use to smoke and I think some of the restrictions have gone to far. However some smokers are really inconsiderate. We went to a outside concert last week and people were smoking in the packed bleachers, one man there with his young daughter got mad about it and left. It was really offense, going right in your face. Some parks have restrictions that you have to be so many feet away from playground too,Im all for that. One thing that irritates the heck out of me is smokers throwing there butts all over! |
people are not allowed to smoke in bars or resturants in Madison, Wisconsin. But thats only in Madison, every other small town outside madison is allowed to do what they wish. |
Here in Washington State you can't smoke in any public establishment at all. There is an exception for Casinos on Indian reservations, they can do whatever they want on the reservations. |
kentucky is the largest or second largest tobacco producing state in the U.S. yet, many cities have banned smoking except in designated outside areas. being a tobabbo state, that was a hard fight for legislatures to win. |

I was on a casino boat one time and my friend and I went to the non-smoking level and we couldn't stand to be in there because the whole place smelled like body odor. It's not harmful to your health but it was still so nasty that even my non-smoking friend preferred the smoke smell on the other floors. They needed an air filtration in that room for all the stinky bodies. Ugh! |
CA. has very rigid smoking laws. You can't smoke in ANY business or building and one town just a few miles north of us prohibits smoking anywhere in that town except your own home. Not even outside. If smoking is that harmful, why doesn't the government ban the sale of tobacco? Oh, I know......they are making billions off the tobacco industry. I don't smoke, but it scares me at how many rights have been taken away. |
well i smoke and to be honest i am very respectful of others but the bans are ridiculous! I can see not smoking in buildings like resteraunts and work places but i don't see it for bars and things of that nature. we have a smoking ban here and it is nuts we can't smoke withing 20 feet of a door(fine) but we are not allowed to smoke in public parks either now:eek: so no amusement parks no kid parks no dog parks nada i mean give me a break it's outside. I understand the people who don't smoke and how they feel but geeze i have a right to smoke just like you have a right to breath. It's just going to get worse now and it won't stop at smoking. I agree that with the seatbelt law now it will just be a matter of time till everything we enjoy will be banned. sorry i just get so irritated with this issue smokers have rights to but we have our rights ripped from us. How would the non smokers feel if they were told they couldn't do something like where red or drive? |
I was actually surprised at King's Island this summer, they had a little spot set up for smokers. It was kinda funny because it was like a little area in the middle of things so people were walking around you but it was almost like we were on display. They had a few benches & some landscaping on a small raised platform like area. I felt like I was an animal in a zoo. I didn't care though, it was just crazy enough to be funny. I was amazed though that some people brought their baby strollers into the area so their kids were surrounded by the smoke. It was outside, but all the smoke was concentrated into that one area. My girls were off having fun w/ their daddy while I took a break so they weren't anywhere around it. |

Here you can't smoke in any restaurant. The only place inside you can smoke are the bars. Smoking is also not allowed inside the local waterpark. They thought about banning it from the entire rec. park surrrounding it, but knew that would make things too hard, so there is a little area for smokers. |
In Fort Worth, you cannot smoke in public place (ie. buidlings, malls), hospitals, and schools. Its depends what restruant you go to if you can smoke or not. My husband is a smoker and I just quite, but my husband will not go into a place that does not have a smoking section. He believes they are decrimating against him. He understands not smoking in builds, malls, schools, and other places like that, but he feels that he should have the choice when he goes into a place to eat and drink. I do believe they were or are talking about making all restuarants smoke free. |
